Everyone is reporting he won’t see jail time, which in my view is giving the court a pass on giving him a light sentence.
In my opinion, Trump gained so much, and could gain so much from a repeat offense, that jail is the only compelling punishment for him. He is unrepentant, and would do it again in a heartbeat.

That’s a witness to criminal contempt of court. The prosecution should get this guy to swear to his hat he saw under oath so Trump can spend some time in prison for his games.
Edit: I’m not fixing that typo, let him swear to his hat.
Yes, and this testimony establishes that there was a reason to make the payment, and a reason to falsify them, it’s the story he was trying to bury, now the jury knows it and can make a more informed decision.
I want to tell a little story. This happened 45 minutes ago. I was at the grocery store and told my daughter she could pick out a snack treat for herself. She picked Lucky Charms Bars, I was happy to buy them until I looked at the box and the price*. $4.99 CAD for 110 grams of Lucky charm bar. $1 per 22 gram serving. That’s $20 a lb.
Know what I can get for $20 a lb or less?
Pretty much any steak cut, chicken, pork, TVP, oatmeal, rice, beans, fruits, or vegetables.
I feel like inflation, and this ingredient swapping enshittification of food has hit hardest on junk food. My family has been fairly insulated from it because we don’t eat a lot of it. Of course, I’ve noticed chicken and beef and other staples go up, but they haven’t shot up like packaged convenience food has.
I talked her out of those, I pointed out for the same $5 she could buy many, many more cookies, or ice cream for days. And she understood that, thank goodness.
Wow, fascism is in its legal phase in America for sure. These judges are going to let him run, there is no actual penalty for insurrection. They guarantee a repeat of Jan 6 with this, may as well have a do over.
I have to shut this off, because it seems obvious where it is going.
Juror #2 an “investment banker” who gets all their news exclusively from Trump Truth social and Elon twitter. The red hat is there to save the day, hang the jury on some nonsense to protect the cult leader.
If I’m wrong, and the jury convicts, point to this thread and I’ll donate $25 to charity.
The observers in the court won’t say who it is, but I guarantee its that one.
Edit: I have chosen Special Olympics Canada as the charity.
Edit2: I was wrong, I will make that donation tonight and post the blurry receipt
If an election were held tomorrow, all signs point to a resounding Conservative victory. The latest projections from 338Canada show the Conservatives with a commanding lead and a projected 220 seats in the Commons, well past the 170 required to form a majority government....
This is one of the many reasons you can’t elect Conservatives and pretend you care about LGBTQ+ or any other marginalized group.
Conservatives want to restore or otherwise conserve traditional hierarchies. That’s it, that’s what it comes down to. So it doesn’t matter what they campaign on, or whether they’ve gone after a group “lately”, if you aren’t a member of one of the traditional hierarchies you will eventually find yourself a target. Just look at the US, how long did it take for Conservatives there to finally win on abortion, on money being speech, on rolling back voting rights? Don’t think for a second that isn’t the plan here, that it won’t happen here, it’s already happening in some provinces and mark my word Pierre is keen to take this stuff national.
So if you want to know who’s next, just reflect on the traditional hierarchies. Rich over poor, white over PoC, God over man, man over women and children, self over society, straight over LGB, and cis over trans. I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few, but Conservatives won’t forget.
I’m only 40 and I’d have a hard time giving specific years for many of my major life events including:
When my nan died
When my grandpa died
When I graduated HS
When I got my bachelor’s degree
What year I left my last job
Like, these dates don’t really hold the kind of relevance of the events themselves. I can’t imagine how hazy those dates will be when Im 70+. Anyway, I’m not sure the job of president is to remember specific dates from your resume.
The special counsel, who is not in a position to make a mental fitness assessment, who is not trained or qualified to do so, who was not tasked with doing so, decided that not remembering the years certain events took place in (as if Biden was a living resume and not a person) is a sign of some sort of memory problem.
Forgive me if I don’t worry about the guy making the kinds of memory errors most of us do.
