Graphy,

It’s fun and has interesting mechanics. I found it to be a good game if you’ve got a group of friends to play it with. I got about 30 hours in until it got repetitive.

Graphy,

I’ve recently test driven far too many cars before pulling the trigger on my midlife crisis car.

The amount of new cars with shit tablets you won’t be able to easily replace in the future is astounding. You should’ve seen my face when I borrowed my neighbors Tesla and it didn’t even have CarPlay. I was just picturing myself sawing a hole in the dash to fit a double din.

Graphy, (edited )

I’ve settled on a 718 cayman but all the dealers I’ve called/met basically put me on a waiting list but said don’t get my hopes up on an allocation. So now I’m just looking for a used GTS that’s not extortion pricing.

I love Miata’s! I used to hang out with a couple guys who did meetups next to where I live at “Tail of the Dragon”

Graphy,

That’s a terrible price since boneless wings are chicken nuggets

Graphy,

Idk, the only places that sells boneless “wings” are usually crappy chains that coat them in a half inch of breading then coat em in a syrup of sugar. I’ll stick to just wings without quotes thanks

Should I offer a more narrow salary expectation if the job listing already has a range?

I’m doing interviews, and I wanted to get an idea of what other people are doing. Say a position offers a pay range between 50-65k. In my interview with HR (first interview), should I try to provide a more narrow range? for instance, " Based on my skills and experience, I’d expect a range between 56-60k" Or should I just...

Graphy, (edited )

I’m an overconfident asshole who always gives my asking price

The kicker is that I’ve always had a job when looking at new jobs so I was always prepared to walk away from negotiations.

If you want to gauge whether that range is a real or bs range ask them what a low end vs high end recruit looks like.

Graphy,

Careful, the next generated image is gonna contain a windmill with clogs for blades

Graphy,

While attempting to stack another brick around the assembly, Daghlian accidentally dropped it onto the core and thereby caused the core to go well into supercriticality, a self-sustaining critical chain reaction. He quickly moved the brick off the assembly, but received a fatal dose of radiation. He died 25 days later from acute [radiation poisoning].

Holy shit and I’m still scared to drop shit into a pot of oil

Graphy,

If not that then at least make people keep the genre tags in the title. If someone marks something super specific and it’s not even the right genre I reserve the right to fight them

Graphy,

Just kinda stand there and daydream

Recently installed a tankless electric system so I sadly no longer get kicked out for running out of hot water lol

Graphy,

That and even if I agree with a lot of the posts you’ll notice that they’re posted by the same people at a very alarming rate. I’ve ran through and blocked anyone who posts the same topic every 6 minutes. Since then my feed has been less monotonous and slightly more authentic.

Graphy,

Just remember that starting a new project is always the fun part. Think we’ve all got a mountain of unfinished projects that we’ve been meaning to return to.

Graphy, (edited )

As a country fan you don’t really expect much from modern country singers so sturgill Simpson might be a good pick.

I remember a while back he was snubbed from the CMAs so he busked outside of the event and called trump a “fascist fucking pig” while taking donations for the ACLU.

Graphy,

Dawg like a year ago I came back into the office for the first time since Covid and all the 20 year olds had somewhere between pedo stashes and handlebars. Zoomers crack me up they’re great

Graphy,

I guess I’m asking because everything I’ve learned about America seems to not be what I was told? Idk how to explain it. Like it feels like USA is one event away from a civil war outright corruption and turning into a D class country.

Might be time to check how much doomscrolling you’re doing. You can drive from Miami to Seattle and you’ll just run into the same dude but with maybe a different flair.

The news and politicians try their hardest to make it look like we’re one single-issue vote bait away from war.

Graphy,

If it doesn’t come from loch ness it’s just sparkling whisky

Graphy,

I use my credit cards for everything I purchase because I get some cash back or other incentives along with fraud protections.

My brother’s a psychopath who plays his credit score like it’s a game so he has like ten cards and a 800+ score he’s proud of.

I make nearly three times as much as him and it took me forever to get an 800 so maybe he’s onto something but fuck that game.

How do I not stop feeling like I am doing nothing outside work?

I am professionally a software developer for 8 years and I simply don’t have ideas for personal projects (Can’t find any problem that I can fix with programming). At times I feel like that’s natural and I shouldn’t worry about it. But on the other hand, I do like to imagine having something personal that I can work on so...

Graphy,

I should probably say that I’m more of a product manager these days so I don’t think I feel quite the pressure you feel to have an impressive git backlog but at one point I did feel that way

I’ll get asked by fresh college grads all the time what I’m working on at home and It’ll take me a second to realize what they’re talking about bc I haven’t worked on a real non-work related project at home in years

If anything I’ll get new devs who I’ll invite to lunch and they’ll be nervous so I try to break the ice by asking what have they been up to or what their hobbies are. They’ll start speed running through their list of pretty obviously pointless github projects that remind me of the fluff ones I did when I first started. It’s adorable

The only personal projects that ever get my attention are the ones that the person describing them is obviously passionate about. You’ll see them grinning ear to ear when telling you how many hours it took to fix a bug.

This is a very ranty way of saying that you shouldn’t stress about projects at home. I was told early on that social skills carry you further than technical skills which is probably bullshit but I was never going to be an amazing coder so let me have this one

Graphy,

My wife and I did those $300 10 segment passes and it was alright but got the feeling it was for poor college students. We basically went around the USA counter clockwise starting in NC.

I’m glad we went but it really highlighted that for us the adventure is the journey not the destination. We love roadside tourist traps and shit so we didn’t get to do a lot of those.

Graphy,

I just picture Tom Knapp casually tossing his Benelli into the air then catching it and turning ten drones into orange dust.

Graphy,

I’ve been craving a Roguelite pvp game and hope this one delivers.

Graphy,

Funny enough if you’re in Illinois there’s supposed to be a co-emerging this year. I was going to check it out but sadly they don’t overlap enough for it to be noticeably louder.

Chirp

Graphy,

I feel like your YT algo and mine look exactly the same, ProdigalFrog. Which funny enough makes it a pain to post on here bc I’m Like “now I’m just stealing something PF would’ve posted”.
