Clarification

You do not have to worry about your mastodon.social (m.s) account being defederated.

There is a well meaning, but misleading post currently promoted that suggests you should move your m.s account because:

  1. "Instance admins are considering defederating them"
  2. "Their admin is making spam accounts easier to create."

Very few, if any, instances are considering blocking m.s, and the recent spam attacks are worthy of sober discussion, not hyperbole. [more]

Yes, sadly many, many get fooled by the mis/disinformation that the oligarchs' psyops agents plant and promote so then begin to push for policies that are counter to their interests.

Matt Yglesias perhaps is one like that. I think that Matt Taibbi is an active agent that got turned while in Russia in contrast although I don't know. Hard evidence is so hard to come up with for obvious reasons.

I think I heard that this case had been tossed out, but there's so much clutter in the search engine results after this week's Trump/CNN fiasco and there are so, so many cases that I can't recall for sure. I don't agree.

One, I think that Trump has demonstrably demonstrated that he considers himself "above" societal norms and the rule-of-law so therefore deserves no organization that supports those to give him a megaphone on the network they built and depend upon those norms imo.

Two, because of Kaitlan Collins' earlier work helping to promote The Great Replacement theory and other far-right dangerous conspiracies I'll probably never respect anything she does.

If I thought it were possible that would be great. I suspect that faced with an effective, tough interviewer that he would storm off and fundraise off of being treated harshly by the "nasty network".

It was kind of nice to have him commit defamation again that might cost him plus the Georgia and especially the stolen secret documents incriminating statements, but I don't think those are worth the harm caused.

One thing that bothers me is that CNN was my go-to for info. 😢

Yeah, it's longer than I wish it were and not the entire segment is crucial to get the gist. I think that he makes a good case that TV interviews of him are just not effective though in just the first few minutes.

Oh and I just made it to the end and the last minute and a half does it too.

It may be better to let the locals figure out how best to deal with their own local conditions instead of thinking that what works in blue states is going to help the Democrats retake some power in a place like Alabama.

Anyways, I don't think that it is better anywhere where Republicans control the government personally.
