TIL that this observation I make over and over again has a name.
Observation: Some people are so defined/obsessed by The Problem that any solution proposal to The Problem is seen as a personal attack, leading to a fight to defend and preserve The Problem instead of working towards a solution.
@jwildeboer In 1990, a study entitled "The technology-centered personality" was published about personality changes by the early use of computers. At that time, it was still possible to compare young people who had grown up without computers. One of the most serious differences was the "binary" thinking of computer users, who even became aggressive if something was not clearly black or white.
This is probably strange but I when I shower, I collect the water so that I can use it on my plants later. I saw this vlog where someone did that (they had a nifty sink that funnels used water to their plants). I couldn't waste water after that 😆
Farbe? #Garten
Against fungus gnats you can sterilize the seed soil in the microwave (3 x 5 minutes on the highest setting at intervals of 24 hours) and the potting soil in the freezer (14 days at -18°C). But for further growth you need a cool place (max. 18°C) and extra light.
@dnc I only grow winter onions, which are planted in the fall. They are harvested from March-May as green spring onions, because these are not cheap and you always have to buy a whole bunch when you only need a few (there are only 2 of us). I buy thick onions from the organic food store.
@dnc That depends on how you let them grow. If you strictly only tolerate one shoot, then you can plant 6 along the center and 5 to the right and left of it.
If you grow them as a bush (as is usual in Italy), then 4 along the center and three to the right and left.
The yield should be the same in both cases, but you will have less work with the 2nd method and less problems with wind.
@dnc Try to get small and high Containers as shown in the picture. Heat a knitting needle (or a long nail) in a candle and poke 3-4 holes in the bottom.
Plant the tomatoes in there, as deep as the leaves. Put them outside during the day and in the hallway at night where it is cold. Each little hair on the stem becomes a root, the deeper you put them, the stronger they become.
They need light and cool temperatures.
@dnc These seem to be aphids. Try to get larvae of ladybugs or adult ladybugs. Any poison you can use will also go into the plant. Homemade sprays with soap or washing up liquid will kill all soil organisms and least of all aphids.
Also hast du mir den Gedanken geklaut. 😉 :ablobcatattentionreverse:
@dnc
For starting they need warmth. As soon as they're show leaves they need light. The amount of light depends on the temperature. The warmer it is, the more light is necessary. But it is the best method to keep them cool after the first repotting in order to get short strong plants.
From the light spectrum plants need only blue and red. The white doesn't count.
@dnc Slugs can smell beer from several hundreds of meters. With your trap you draw them from the whole neighbourhood.
In addition, snails are beneficial animals that do the same thing above ground as earthworms underneath: process dead plant material into humus. Since you don't offer them any food, they have to nibble on your plants to avoid starving to death.
Killing beneficial invertebrates is unbiological.
@dnc No. For planting onion you need special starter bulbs. This one will mainly sprout a flower stalk that is not edible and use up the bulb, which will become mushy.
