I agree with that assessment. It's very much in line with the framework that social model of disability provides. It's the environment which caters to neurotypicals that disables us.

I've seen it said that almost every autistic ends up traumatized. I can feel that. Perhaps some thanks to wealth and privilege get less traumatized and better support to manage problems the trauma can cause.

But we may not know what autism looks like in the absence of trauma. I wonder what some might accomplish if given support and having no trauma in their lives.

Awake and rather reluctant about that

Feels like I got stuck on my right shoulder for a while while sleeping. Even Mr Dinker Donkers was complaining about me not moving any and him being stuck

I have no brain yet, hope it gets clunking along in the next hour or so

One cool thing about some of those old classical music record albums is the album liner notes which might give biographical information about the composers and commentary about the culture and audiences for the composers.

The liner notes in the Vivaldi album are pretty damn wild about some of the norms and mores.

IzabelaKaramia,

Brain is starting to clunk along. Did a Duolingo lesson and streak is now 2010 days long

I've put on the Vivaldi record that I got on Saturday, it's pleasant to listen to as I'm still waking up

I've even managed to depajamify myself and have put on shorts and a sports bra. A good sign that I can wear that and feel comfy. It's 74F in the apartment. I've often needed more clothes than that to feel warm enough at that temp.

I'm awake and starting my daily thread of nips and bits, jots and thoughts, reelings and feelings

Definitely going to probably fall into a nap some point today, not sure why I'm puttering about now for almost 3 hours

One thing of note earlier in the week and the stress happened is how much it flaked out my resting heart rate. Like late Monday evening even some hours after the worst of things my rhr was up in the 90s. This morning as I write this my rhr is about 67 bpm

I'm pretty much convinced that capybaras are potatoes that grew legs,

Gonna try that sleeping thing again.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

Unsure about what to do for a dinner later.

Music has been a Credence Clearwater Revival kind of day.

Starting to feel nervous about something.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

Did take a slow stroll around the apartment complex to see if any useful furniture had been put out by the dumpsters but no such luck today unlike last weekend.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

Watered the flowers and veggies, did some pruning of flowers past their prime.

Really lovely weather today. I should make some lunch to eat.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

feels like I may not have used enough zenpep with a meal or two yesterday. My intestines have been complaining and crampy all day.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

Also want to get in habit of weighing myself daily. This morning the scale said 169 lbs

I probably should also keep some notes about physical activity

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

the first blood sugar result and that I have dosed 25u Lantus for my daily basal shot

Along with a note that I'm injecting 3u Humalog to handle the liver waking up

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

The best thing from yesterday was the sturdy stick I found and brought back to my little veggie plot. It's now a stake next to the green pepper plant. The stem has been tied to the stake.

But when I got back with it, I soon realized that using just my arms and hands weren't enough to drive the stake into the ground to enough depth that it would be sturdy and not possibly fall over in weather in wind.

But there by my foot was a good stone that fit well into the palm of hand. So I picked up

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

Definitely feeling some effects from walking 2.5 miles yesterday. I think it's not a bad overwhelm, just one where I pushed the limits some and now today I just want to take it very easy and stay well within spoon expenditure.

I need to pick up an rx and can also pick up some supplies while doing that. That'll be the one large task for the day.

Other than that, we'll try to keep everything slow and relaxed. Eat some good food.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

that stone, held it in the palm of my right hand and then hammered the stake into the ground. Thump thump thump.

I felt connected to our early ancestors and how they would have done similar, grabbed a good somewhat flat rock and used it as a hammer.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

Picked up rx and some other items.

Not feeling bad physically, but I can definitely sense a sleepiness not far away which could get overwhelming if I do too much either physically or mentally. So let's just take it easy today.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

Awake again. Had a dream where I was using the infinitive to bro

Have reopened and copied a spreadsheet I used to use to keep track of glucose results and insulin dosing. I'm probably going to add some more cells to it in the days to come to help me keep track of diabetes management and start getting a better more data minded understanding of how my metabolism has changed with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency now being treated

For this morning right now it's just good enough to log

UGH.

Our apartment estate is having a "summer party", and we have some horrid European live cover band singing-pseudo country outside the damned window and it's too warm to shut it.

UGH.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

@grrrr_shark

I probably listened to Proud Mary, CCR recording, at least 10x this week. Great song, but it has to be done right.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

@grrrr_shark

Why are they singing country music in Europe? Is there a big demand over there for country music?

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

@grrrr_shark

Probably worse if you did know? Especially if they are covering the top of the charts country music from 2000 to present, which is where country music finally fully subsumed itself into American right wing politics.

Now you go back in time before that, there was a time when country music was more flavorful and artists weren't obligated to sing America, pickup trucks, guns, and beer, rah rah rah.

There are some less known artists presently writing some good country music

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

@grrrr_shark

but they aren't getting popular radio play at all.

It's a sad thing really. Blues and country were very close relatives back in time and it's interesting to listen to recordings from way back and hear how much the two genres played off of one another.

    You're a ginger, do the rules apply to you?

    FuchsiaShock, to random

    People think ‘cis’ is a slur because that's how they think about and use ‘trans‘, as a slur.

    IzabelaKaramia,
    @IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

    @FuchsiaShock

    Yup. It's very much like how 20 years ago there were straight people complaining about being called straight. They'd say things like, "I'm not straight, I'm normal! “
