I've showered.

Brain should be better today although the overcast skies and light rain will be a damper on my mood.

Getting ready to run errands for supplies.

Been here for over a month now and starting to form a map in my head, but at times I feel some sort of lost in how I don't feel I have familiar places from my past nearby. A sense of disconnection and being unmoored.

Last night I woke briefly and thought about Longwood Gardens and a sadness that I didn't have time and energy

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

to visit it.

Here I don't yet feel part of the area, the landscape, it'll take time to develop any sense of that.

But I hope physical health continues to improve and it'll give me opportunity to walk in places and get a feel for them that way. Walking is much more effective for that than riding around in a car, in my opinion.

Errands have been done. After items were put away, I realized that right then was as good a time as any to go take a walk and so I did that, covering about 2.3 miles 52 minutes.

Legs felt a little stiff maybe because of not walking yesterday but also the effects from the long walk I did on Wednesday.

Heated up lunch immediately after getting back from walk, so go nutrients.

IzabelaKaramia,

Took a nap in the early afternoon.

But had some energy when I got up and with that, I've unpacked the home computer and its accessories and have reassembled it except for the speakers. Had a scary part where it seemed like the hard drive had died, but I thought about things, checked all the cables, reset them, and still nothing.

Uh oh.

But then I thought more and checked the memory chips, resetting them.

And success, with the memory seated properly, the hard drive got to boot up.

Slept a lot. About 2 hours after work, woke up then and ate a dinner and soon went back to bed and slept about 11 hours.

I feel better this morning and it feels like I can think again.

Hope to get some unpacking done today. And take an easy walk. I didn't walk yesterday and I'm okay with that. Maybe physically I felt okay enough but perhaps the brain was trying to shut me down and make me sleep because I needed that badly.

Time to make breakfast.

Petting our cat and/or dog (or other furry pets) can be a soothing autistic stim.

We may pet them without realizing we are stimming, which can lead to some happy animals who very much enjoy this stim of ours.

This also applies to plushies too if you don’t have a pet.

@ashleyspencer

Snuggling with my cat is probably my favorite stim.

I woke up early early, about 230, but it's Friday.

Need to keep today on the easy side and when I take a walk after work, it'll be only 30 to 40 minutes and at a slow pace.

Ginza is the best cat in the world.

Supposed to be mild today but clouds are going to roll in and then comes a stretch of gray days, but maybe next week the more summer like pattern starts to take hold and sunnier warmer days become more consistent and frequent.

I wonder what happened yesterday. I had a package out for delivery from Amazon and I actually saw the driver was 4 stops away...

an hour later there was a message that they had lost tracking on the vehicle

I remember hearing lots of sirens coming from the direction where the vehicle might have been near after I had seen how the package was only a few miles away

and today I'm being told "Sorry, the package will arrive today by 6 PM."

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

Ginza loves falling asleep with the catnip banana as a pillow or somewhere near her head. Maybe the catnip gives her good dreams?

Getting a load of laundry done this morning. I kinda forgot about washing clothes this week and suddenly remembered that this morning.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

Just got the dry laundry out of the dryer and folded it. Honestly I want to go all cat like and go to sleep on top of and surrounded by that fresh and warm clothing.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

Physically I feel okay but mentally I'm utterly wiped out and my only goal now is to make it to clock out time from work and as soon as that's done, I'm going to dive into bed and sleep.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

I hate it when I get this mentally drained. All thinking feels like strenuous effort.

IzabelaKaramia, to random
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

Seems like the unpacking effort and stress from Sunday and Monday then combined with yesterday's walk really tuckered me out. I took a 2.5 hour nap late afternoon, got up for about an hour and a half and then went back to bed.

Ginza no longer sleeps by my feet on the bed. She has to sleep next to my tummy or my back, whichever side she's on when I sleep on either my body's right or left side.

If I've come awake and she stirs too as I get my bearings, she makes happy sounds, chirps and purrs.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

Today I plan to take it as easy as possible. Do work for work and take a short easy walk of around thirty to forty minutes.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

Things got tangled and wild this morning but I've navigated all that and hopefully I can put the rest of the day on coast mode.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

I've eaten lunch. Need to get more calories and nutrients in me today. I'm finally getting up off he bottom of how bad things were for me and yesterday's walk was good for me, but I need to replace what was lost along with trying to make progress forward.

Going to take time to recover from the magnesium deficiency.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

But a lot of progress forward the past few weeks. My resting heart rate is better, heart rate variability is better, my heart doesn't need to beat so fast when I'm walking.

And now that my stuff has made it cross the country, I can see that blood pressure readings are better.

But it will take a long time to replenish the body with magnesium and to do that I want to eat well and use a dose of supplementation put more in me than what is lost every day due to activity and waste elimination.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

Pulled the record player out of the packed stuff and some albums so I can have that playing music while I work.

I'm still using the macbook for my personal computer and haven't yet set up the desktop PC which I often use to play music because I have decent speakers to attach to it.

I'll get that set up this weekend.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

If Ludwig van Beethoven had been born into our times, what genre of music would he be writing in?

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

I've been trying to tell my brother he should set up speakers to play music for the goats that has Stevie Nicks singing. I'm sure it would make them happier because her singing voice has the goat vibrato sound going on.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

walked almost 40 minutes, kept it slow and easy, it was windy and at times that made things feel cold despite the sunshine

now working on cooking chicken thighs and veggie mash to make the next two days easier

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

The walk, combined with the scent of the chicken cooking, has made me hungry. Intensely. Don't know if I'll survive 10 more minutes.

IzabelaKaramia, to random
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

I've awakened early. Really could have used another night of long sleep. We'll see how today goes.

Furniture in the bedroom has been rearranged bit over the past few days and as a result, Ginza's cat tree is now located between the bed and the wall and that seems pretty convenient for her, putting her two favorite pieces of furniture right beside each other.

Last evening, when I got into bed, I felt it when she leapt from the floor onto the bed next to me, but immediately leapt from there...

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

@ninetiger

9 or 10 years old by the history I was given.

The fact that a few people over the years had participated in feeding her certainly helped with making it easier for me to show her that I could be friendly toward her, though maybe she never anticipated how much friendlier a person might be.

She was so skittish when I first began feeding her and being allowed to pet her along the back of her neck and spine. Had to move so slowly or she would run off.

IzabelaKaramia,
@IzabelaKaramia@writing.exchange avatar

While out on my walk today which was over an hour long and more than 3 miles, I took a picture of the ridiculous cumulus clouds that so often form on the days which aren't buried in dreary low hanging clouds.
