I’ve seen nail polish that supposedly allowed them to work with touch screens, kinda like gloves that work with them. I dunno how well it works; I don’t paint my nails (or have long nails to begin with). I just remember seeing it on the shelf while at Walmart and getting shampoo.

I thought I spend 50 hours in act 1 because it’s not very clear where Act 1 actually ends, but it’s a lot sooner than one might initially think. Mostly because you have several options that may even skip a big part of act 1, so you don’t get to see the crescendo moment.

The only loot boxes in Borderlands are the actual boxes of loot you find in the game world playing the game like any other box of loot in an RPG. Unless there’s a new one I haven’t heard of that contains MTX loot boxes.

It sounds like you have no fucking clue what you’re talking about. Have you ever actually played any of the Borderlands games? Or are you like @Detheroth and considering the event/pre-order exclusive codes needed to unlock golden keys as a lootbox, despite them not actually selling them for money? FFS, you can cheat to obtain these things by just copying your save file, since they’re stored locally on your profile.

If you had argued over the season pass shit, you’d have somewhat of a point, though not anything to do with gambling. But you decided to focus on lootboxes.

You mean the event exclusive shit you don’t actually have to pay for (outside of attending the events/seeing social media posts/the few that come with a DLC pack)?

I’ve seen one or two posts that had communist Nazi vibes. I just blocked the users posting them and haven’t had a problem since.

The big name instances that generate these boogyman claims are blocked on Lemmy World. They’re not blocked on my instance, but they also aren’t really any different than any other posts from any other instances. The most cited reason isn’t the content they post, but the fact the creator of the instance (in this case I am referring to Lemmygrad) is a tankie. Well they don’t seem to post a helluva lot for it to matter, and the average users there aren’t crazy assholes in my experience.

The Hexbear stuff, on the other hand… Every single user I’ve seen from that instance behaved like a 4chan troll or T_D user.

Maybe it’s just because I am usually in LGBT and trans spaces, but I see a lot more women than I did on Reddit. They might not all be cis women but still.

I always thought it was called "learning" and that people enjoyed it (lemmy.world)

Like, why wouldn’t people be interested in knowing that the African slave trade of the colonial period actually started with Jewish kids, but they all died in the African climate of Sao Tome, so the Portuguese started buying slaves from the Congolese, which they captured from neighboring tribes, to work the fields??

Even if you emulated it, like I’ve experienced some games doing, why would you want it? It feels weird as hell having the cursor or aim snap back once you stop moving the mouse entirely (rocket League does this if setting camera movement to mouse).

So many I can’t even narrow down a specific one. Many new titles have tutorials that go over generic bullshit like how to move and aim and then don’t tell you how to do anything that’s actually unique to the game itself. I hate that shit.

Really hate having a tutorial objective of “put the goober in the jibjab” but then it doesn’t explain what the fuck either of those things are, and it’s not obvious by just looking at the situation.

Oh, The Ascent did this. Tells you to hack something early on; does not tell you how this is achieved. Everything up to that point was walk up to thing and press A/X. To hack you have to HOLD A/X. But it doesn’t say that. I had to look it up online. Which is stupid.

Dark Souls also. But… It’s hard to be mad at that one, since being vague is literally purposeful game design with those. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Users coming here from reddit might know that the main canada subreddit and offshoots such as metacanada and canada_sub are havens for the far-right. I’m concerned that as Lemmy.ca is growing, a small number of far-right posters might be able to influence the culture that Lemmy.ca develops....

While I understand and somewhat agree that the mods should handle things like this from reports, if the community is large enough, and the mod team is not equally large enough to handle everything, some automation is useful. If the community wants to eliminate or at least limit misinformation spreading on it, blanket bans on sites that exclusively deal in bullshit should be banned.

Blanket bans on a specific political ideology in and of itself though… That’s discomforting. I may not agree with their politics, but not all people on the right are inflexible, intolerant morons. Just like not everyone on the left is a happy ray of sunshine who only has the best interests of their fellow man at heart. At the risk of being labeled an “enlightened centrist,” I still feel the individual posters themselves need to be dealt with on a personal, individual level.
