Do people in accessibility who vaunt "inclusive AI" realise they are just doing PR?

Like, I honestly don't care if there's one or two specific uses of AI that might help someone vulnerable in some small way. You can use the barrel of a gun to prize open a drain cover and save a kitten.

The history of AI will be the history of an irresponsible tech obliterating accountability & eventually meaning itself. That won't be good for anyone. Stop using disabled people to will that into reality.

There’s a writer on here, I might have read all his books. Keeps Boosting images with no Alt Text. Every time he does it, I feel disappointed in him. When his next book comes out, I’ll feel disappointed in myself if I think about buying it.
What do I do, he says it it the last one in the series, ever. Do I block him and relax, tell him and hope he is reasonable or something else? Blind

I just saw this image, in a post that said "ach Apple" (German for a disappointed "oh Apple") with an #AltText of "Battery status indicators displaying 89% for a smartphone, 67% for a smartwatch, 87% for earbuds, and 99% for a charging case."

This is a great example of "has alt text, but the alt text is utterly useless".

Why? Because it fails to explain or even mention the actual point of the image, namely that the visualization of the last percentage is bugged.
