MajorMajormajormajor,

It’s cash though, how do you pay all those things off with cash in only 1 hour? If you walk into a bank with 1 million cash and ask to deposit it, that might set off some red flags.

Reddit is in danger of a death spiral (www.zdnet.com)

Huffman has said, "We are not in the business of giving that [Reddit's content] away for free." That stance makes sense. But it also ignores the reality that all of Reddit's content has been given to it for free by its millions of users. Further, it leaves aside the fact that the content has been orchestrated by its thousands of...

MajorMajormajormajor,

I was there 3000 years ago when the no-poop challenge happened.

MajorMajormajormajor,

Are you sure the number isn't spoofed and some poor bastard is getting harassed now? At least for me any scam call always has the same first 6 digits as my number with a random last 4 digits.

MajorMajormajormajor,

Ahh, well then, carry on good-person. You're the hero we need, not the hero we deserve.

MajorMajormajormajor,

What a nice way of saying "thanks, I guess..." Lol.

MajorMajormajormajor,

If you have a blender, food processor, or immersion blender you can add beans, lentils, etc and veggies into a red pasta sauce to get your protein and veggies in with keeping a good texture. Just blend up yours beans and veggies (I use frozen stir fry mix but anything works) and add into the sauce as you simmer it for a while. Works well to thicken up a sauce by doing this, so save some pasta water to get the consistency right.

Depending on time I try to simmer my sauce for an hour or two.

If you combine this with whole wheat pasta you have a cheap, healtht, great tasting meal that's vegan friendly (if you don't add cheese at the end). I'm sure this is blasphemy for an Italian, but I love the meal.

MajorMajormajormajor,

It would only be a temporary solution, sort of like that Futurama bit where they fixed global warming once and for all by dropping a giant ice block into the ocean every couple years. If we keep producing so much CO2 we'll have to sequester more and more carbon.

MajorMajormajormajor,

That's true. Likely the situation will require a number of different factors all happening at the same time to change our trajectory.

MajorMajormajormajor,

1 word: pancakes. Nature's cork.

MajorMajormajormajor,

You obviously haven't rolled a pancake up into a cylinder and give it the tappy tap up the ol' poop chute eh? You're missing out.

MajorMajormajormajor,

Without, do you want ants? That is how you get ants.

MajorMajormajormajor,

You have a what-if machine but can only use it to know how your life would be if you had a finglonger.

MajorMajormajormajor, (edited )

I, for one, really get frustrated trying to watch my betting program and they keep interrupting it to show people chasing a puck around the ice. I'm glad something is finally being done about all this sport nonsense.

Edit: Think of the children! How are we supposed to teach our children proper betting techniques and knowledge if this madness doesn't stop?

MajorMajormajormajor,

Don't say Beytelgyoose three times in the mirror...

I feel people either love or hate Stephen King. I was the same as you, absolutely loved his work from the get go and devoured everything I could.

Personal favorites:

IT

11-22-63 - not horror based mostly but cool concept.

Dark tower books - these are his holy grail, everything connects to them.

The stand - I just love the feel of this book, it just feels right.

Seriously try the dark tower books. I've reread them multiple times and it's such a great experience.

MajorMajormajormajor,

11-22-63 I found enthralling, but it is about American history in the 60s so if that's not your jam then be forewarned. It does a good job of showing the good and bad parts of the time though, so even as a non-American I found it very interesting.

Also, for more recent King books I quite enjoyed The Outsider and The Institute as well. The Outsider is more classic horror, and the Institute deals more with supernatural powers in regular people. Just to add more to your list.

Happy reading!

MajorMajormajormajor,

"After all, why shouldn't I write about trees for three pages? It's my own book, my precious." - JRR Tolkien

MajorMajormajormajor,

To sleep in a sea of stars.

A very interesting sci-fi book that was a little slow for the first 50 or so pages but then really took off after that. It's honestly caused meany sleepless nights as I stay up far too late reading because I just can't put it down.
