MelodiousFunk,

Might I suggest “EmptyG” to avoid future confusion?

MelodiousFunk,

40 years ago, we had to worry about hurricanes occasionally, and you could usually count on a handful of powerful nor’easters each winter. Thunderstorms in the summer were frequent but rarely severe. We used to go out in the yard and watch the light show as they approached.

In the last 10 years or so, thunderstorms have turned into deluge events, and are starting sooner in the year. It’s a coin flip whether a severe storm will be accompanied by a tornado watch/warning. My friends got lucky last spring, only sustaining minor porch damage while less than a hundred yards away dozens of trees were downed, some falling onto roofs. One of 12 tornadoes in the area that day. We’ve had double-digit tornado counts only 4 times in the past 70-some years, and three of them were in the past 5 years.

This is not normal.

A new account rekindles allegations that Trump disrespected Black people on 'The Apprentice' (apnews.com)

Gene Folkes had just been jettisoned as a contestant on “The Apprentice” and was commiserating with a crew member at a bar inside the lobby of Trump Tower. He was indignant — and not just at having been kicked off the reality show after its star, Donald Trump, had delivered his catchphrase: “You’re fired.”...

Alex Jones agrees to liquidate his assets to pay Sandy Hook families, in move that would end his ownership of Infowars (www.cnn.com)

Right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on Thursday moved to liquidate his personal assets, agreeing to demands from the families of Sandy Hook victims whom he owes more than $1.5 billion in damages over his lies about the 2012 school massacre....

MelodiousFunk,

Missed opportunity to add Thomas to the mix.

MelodiousFunk,

OT 1 is available on PS. OT 2 is available on Xbox.

MelodiousFunk,

God I’m an idiot

Disagree but I’m way too tapped to get into that argument lol. Ya goofed, the end. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

MelodiousFunk,

Pretty straightforward to me. But grandma gets confused, so we can’t possibly implement it.

/s because it’ll probably be needed

MelodiousFunk,

Most people don’t even understand how our current electoral system works but they don’t seem to be raising a stink about it lol

And many of the ones that have no clue think they understand. But regardless, the entire concept of American Exceptionalism that gets hammered into us from birth means that whatever we have now is “the right way.” Changing things challenges that concept, which many have internalized as part of their core identity. Which… gestures vaguely at the overall political landscape …yeah.

MelodiousFunk,

I used to love Al-generated content when I was a kid. Still do, but I used to, too.

MelodiousFunk,

until we come up with a solution to this “infinite growth” problem.

This is why cancer research is so important. But for now, we can try the old standbys of surgical removal and full-system poison.

Judge Cannon expands hearing on Trump’s request to declare special counsel’s appointment invalid | CNN Politics (www.cnn.com)

“The issue, now before Cannon in the Southern District of Florida federal court, is likely to remain in the political debate at least until Cannon holds a hearing on the legal power of the special counsel to prosecute a defendant, on June 21.”

MelodiousFunk,

For me, the original album hasn’t left the rotation in the past 30 years lol. My spouse will sometimes play Megadeth from streaming, which is almost exclusively the remix/remaster/re-record(?) versions. And they all sound “off” to me because I spent so much time with the original mixes, rough as they may be.

MelodiousFunk,

Yeah, that week or two in the spring is nice. Little bits of purple everywhere.

Otherwise, it’s just choking out everything else. Except the English ivy. Which is worse.

MelodiousFunk,

That was both wild and entirely accurate at the same time.

MelodiousFunk,

Uh, I think she may be a bit too “ethnic” for the vast majority of Idaho.

DisclaimerPlease note that I am not condoning this sentiment, merely calling out Idaho for being majority backwoods regressive.

MelodiousFunk,

Yep. Would have gladly bought more than one season of Bojack Horseman, two seasons of Stranger Things, Hill House in 4K/HDR… but no. I’m glad there are preservationists keeping stuff like this from disappearing at the whim of corporate (all hail etc.).
