We watched THE INNOCENTS (2021) last night and while I thought it was a solid horror film, I am somewhat bewildered at the 97% on RT. I'd give it a 90% - it was a unique premise, certainly full of horror, and the kids were great in it. But it wasn't a near masterpiece.
(Note that the horror contains some truly appalling animal death, so don't watch it if that's going to traumatize you.)
Made a post on #BlueSky yesterday which went viral and now my smartphone explodes getting hundreds of notifications :blobcatgooglyholdingitsheadinitshands:
@mackuba I get it if people prefer BlueSky, I get if people prefer the Fediverse.
Both have there pros and cons.
Met a lot of great folks on both sites and here it's more of a personal feeling, but if I want to discuss #Film topics I get definitely more interaction there.
I almost didn't start watching this because I thought it would be dumb, but I freaking love this show. I binge watched five episodes so far. Have you seen it? #thehorrorofDoloresRoach@horror
"...And as for the “all time classic dialogue” that was “butchered” and “misappropriated” by López, Pizzolatto’s admirers seem to have forgotten that much of Rust Cohle’s dialogue in season 1 was borrowed from #horror author #ThomasLigotti"
@stina_marie@horror I read that a lot of people watched it, but I think not all were that enthusiastic about it as my bubble.
But I get it. If you are expecting a "normal" crime show you are getting a lot of supernatural horror and I guess not everyone is into that.
Reminded a lot of The Outsider, which was also between crime and supernatural horror. Having no idea it was supernatural I got my parents to watch it :ablobcatrave: :ablobcathyper:
