I saw #AlienMovie last night celebrating its 45th anniversary. It's been a seriously long time since I've seen the film, and I don't know if I've ever seen it in a theatre.
The Fox logo at the beginning looks so weird, and the fanfare is a shorter version than the one I'm used to, but other than that, the film holds up really well. 1/2
Well-drawn characters, good actors, great set design and production design, terrific score and that amazing creature. I did jump once or twice, and it was so tense throughout so much of the film.
Before the film, #AMCTheatres showed a conversation / interview between #FedeAlvarez (director of the upcoming #AlienRomulus ) and #RidleyScott, mostly discussing aspects of the original film. I especially liked hearing about how #HRGiger got involved with the film. #AlienMovie 2/2
Watched #AlienRomulus teaser/trailer. It reminded me that what made #Alien (1979) and #Aliens (1986) great were more than just actions and scares, I hope Romulus gets that, and is more than just blood and gore.
Obvious content warnings, this is a sci-fi horror movie. Blood, screams, spider-like alien creatures, tentacles, jumpscare. Also a bit of flashing lights.
