@mentallyalex Haven't broadcasted yet. I might try sometime this weekend.

I found an app to play my PS5 remotely on my laptop called "Chiaki" which took a little tlc to get working but eventually I did. I think it works better then the PS5 remote app so far.

I've got OBS (broadcasting software) all set up, so all I need to do is find the time to give it a try. I found an app to let me use my iPhone as a webcam like I did with Windows, so that's cool too.

So far so good!

@jankhambrams I think it was easier for me because there were only two apps that I used that didn't have Linux counterparts but in the end I don't think it will matter. Most of what I do on my laptop is done through my browser, so switching to Linux hasn't been that big of a switch for me.

@mentallyalex I’ve used OBS on Linux before. It works exactly like OBS on windows.

I’m sure things would be more difficult if I gamed on my laptop instead of through remote play on my PS5. If I hadn’t been able to set up remote play, I’d probably have less of a desire to switch over. I think for a lot of people gaming is probably one of the biggest things that keeps them from adopting Linux as their main OS.

@mentallyalex I know that you can play a lot of steam games. Not all of them though. Someone needs to come out with an emulator or something to make it easier. But seeing as that Linux makes up less than 3% of the home OS market, I doubt anybody’s in a rush.

Anybody have a 'low-effort' crock-pot-kinda Thanksgiving they want to share?

I lack the energy to fully meal prep, and have had success w/ and freezing, but the prep time is crazy.

@Mrfunkedude if I could include low-effort bread in this as well, w/o sacrificing quality, I'd be a fan of that.

How can I cook, freeze, reheat, and safely eat poultry, salty af stuffing, and mashed potatoes, in an efficient way?

@_ It’s literally the oldest form of harvesting yeast for bread. It’s not overly complicated.

The key is to have an environment that somewhere between 70 and 85° optimally. A warm environment helps the yeast to grow.

Then the idea is that you use the starter to inoculate your dough. A simple loaf of sourdough bread is just flour, water, and salt. When you add the starter, it adds the yeast that helps it to rise.

Be warned. Once you learn to make your own bread, nothing else will do.
