Wasn't that where was at for a lot of years? It didn't make a lot of progress until Mozilla picked it up again and poured resources into it.

There are even community-run forks of Firefox that have a very hard time keeping up with web "standards" (heh) and such.

I'm 100% pro-FOSS, but the web is anything but a level playing field. 😢

I wanted to try Kakoune and Helix, but IIRC they both broke some classic vi muscle memory for me.

That doesn't make it not an awesome bit of software, though. Have fun!

The original WWW proposal is a Word for Macintosh 4.0 file from 1990. Recovering the text, diagrams, and formatting was not impossible but it was hard. A great example of the use of #emulation for historical research and digital preservation.

Dear @mozilla
Please, please, please put the RSS indicator back in Firefox.

People need to know about this technology which empowers users over greedy, controlling corporations.

Update: As many have pointed out, you can use @thunderbird as an RSS feed reader, and there are many add-ons to restore the RSS indicator (one of which I'm already using). But my point is that Firefox needs to lean into RSS as an answer to all the crap that is the modern web, and help educate users about it
