I create a new package for Emacs:
hide-secrets: https://gitlab.com/ostseepinguin1/hide-secrets-el

It hides various secrets like passwords, username, email addresses, IP addresses and hash sums in Emacs buffer, so you can show these buffers online without risking privacy.

It's still too early to put it on Melpa.

Feedback very much appreciated.

Keyboard arrived. Very impressed with the build on first inspection and glad I decided to stray from trusty black. The wood palm rests are super comfortable. There is going to be a bit of a learning curve and muscle memory shift from my HHKB Pro and I can see I will probably need to do some remapping for #emacs use. Thanks @ttscoff and @curtismchale for information on this before I ordered. #keyboard #ergomechkeyboards

Hi, I just finished my new version of journalctl-mode. It's now using transient for a more intuitiv UI. Also I added a simple follow mode.

I would be very thankful, if some of you folk could test it, before I push it to main. You can install it using quelpa as described:

https://github.com/SebastianMeisel/journalctl-mode/tree/transient

SebasTEAan,
@SebasTEAan@emacs.ch avatar

@sping thanks for reaching out. I looked into your code. You do have a very different approach, then my project - concentrating much more on JSON. I do actually think both packets have their use cases. IMO the best solution would be, to have different names and acknowledge each other's projects in the README - pointing out the differences, so the users can choose, which one fits them best.

SebasTEAan,
@SebasTEAan@emacs.ch avatar

@sping Perfect. I linked your package as well in my README.

@debacle @sping Yes, it works with journalctl-mode.

@ctietze @debacle @sping I'm also working on asynchronous process support, which will be mach faster, But it will take a few days to be finished.

@publicvoit People that call a law that forbids the denial of genocide as censorship are none that I want to pay attention. Also it's interesting what laws they don't mention: Americas states censor books in schools and libraries. German states censor Gender aware language in schools and even universities. Yes censorship is a growing problem, but these people seem to want to protect hate speech and disinformation rather than free speech and democracy.

This may be the earliest evidence that Neanderthals hunted cave lions

Conclusions are based on re-analysis of a cave lion skeleton and recently found pelt.

    Recent news reveals that Windows Terminal will soon have AI capabilities, thanks to GitHub Copilot. While it may be useful for Windows users, as a longtime Linux desktop user, I personally don't want this feature in my Linux terminal. I am concerned about transferring my data to for-profit corporations like Microsoft or Google. It's important to be cautious about what we wish for. Additionally, I'm confident that I'm still smarter than these AIs ;)Do you want AI in your terminal snooping around?

    SebasTEAan,

    @nixCraft I think a decent Open-source offline AI would be a nice feature. I'm sure it will come to Linux but as everything just as an option. I'd appreciate it. While I think I'm a lot smarter then an AI it has the better memory.
