» @signalapp Chefin kritisiert Karners Entwurf zu Messenger-Überwachung:
Die Regierung will Messenger-Dienste stärker überwachen.

#E2E#encryptie#privacy https://tweakers.net/nieuws/221102/politiechefs-roepen-overheden-op-actie-te-ondernemen-tegen-end-to-endencryptie.html

Hi Fediverse, long-term denizens and new arrivals.
I'm Esther and I post a bit about tech, privacy and how stories can help us to help others to understand the dangers to our #privacy by mass data collection.
I toot at times about #RFC1984, this RFC is still pretty relevant to the now with attempts to undermine #E2E by legislatures..
India, Pakistan attempted to interfere in Canada's elections: CSIS
In the case of the 2019 election, CSIS said the Canadian government conducted what it called a "threat reduction measure" ahead of the vote, meant to "reduce the foreign interference threat posed by the Government of Pakistan."
"The situation was monitored and assessed to have effectively reduced the threat of interference," CSIS wrote.
...am, as yet, undecided regarding the potential threat of a surveillance state, as in #China, #NorthKorea, or #Russia, but things cannot continue as they are. The really stolen (from #HillaryClinton) #Election2016 in the #US should be a definite call for action.
However, ending end-to-end #encryption (#E2E) is certainly taking it way too far. There must be a society left worth fighting for.

The internet is already awash in companies trying to monitor you, from #Meta to #Google, and governments are just as thirsty for data.
#E2E encrypted services are crucial as they are the only way to keep your information away from the constant surveillance of governments and companies.

Have been looking at #dat again, do you think we can build this:
The Open Media Network is a trust based, human moderated, #4opens project that builds a database shared across many peers (both #p2p and server). The project is more important for what it DOES NOT DO, than what it does do, using technology to build human networks. There are ONLY 5 main functions:
• Publish (object to a stream of objects) – to publish an object (text, image, link)
• Subscribe (to a stream of objects) – to a person or organization, a page, a group, a hashtag subject etc.
• Moderate (stream or object) – you can say I like/dislike (push/pull or yes/no) this etc you can comment.
• Rollback (stream) – you can remove from your flow (instance database) untrusted historical content by publishing flow/source/tag.
• Edit (meta data of object/stream) – you can edit the metadata in any site/instance/app you have a login on.
We would build in the moderation tools of the #Fediverse.
This is the back-end of the project to build a #DIY trust based, grassroots, semantic web. The front-end may be anything you like, for example regional-/city-/subject-based #indymedia sites to a distributed archiving project #makeinghistory
The data cauldron and the golden ladle. The technology we call the #WitchesCaldron.
@witchescauldron Another platform to consider is #SafeNetwork which is coming together right now. (For example, I'm looking into porting my earlier proof of concept for a an LDP interface (#LinkedData / #RDF) to the new API, and then some #Solid apps.)
I think what you propose would be feasible, certainly worth looking into because the platform has some unique characteristics and I think now would be the perfect time to start building for it. Fully autonomous #p2p#e2e#security.

#Chatkontrolle kennt ihr. Und wisst, dass es nicht das taugt, was es vorgibt (und gefährliche Nebeneffekte hat, inklusive grossen Gefahren für Menschenrechte und Demokratie).
"#Chatkontrolle" klingt so gefährlich.

To passively scrape a webpage one uses automation tools, ideally headless browsers like #Selenium or #Puppeteer. Of course one can use any tool that is typically used for #e2e testing in the #browser.
The biggest obstacle for passively scraping is dealing with either #captcha or #cloudflare.
There are options to use captcha farms for a small monetary fee. And Cloudflare can be over come by IP hopping.
In general, passively scraping only works on websites that were poorly configured.
