I don't know if it will ever stop being cool that I can print replacement parts for things.

(I would have printed this rubber foot in black but I do not have any black TPU right now)

@MLE_online I’d love to do this. I work in CAD so the modeling part easy - it’s the printer part I would welcome suggestions direction on what to do / site for recommendations. :)

    @LeftistLawyer it’s bit like the end of slavery - the debt to paying off the slave owners was only finally settled in about 1980’s

    @LeftistLawyer I was wrong - debt paid off in 2015

    https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/what-to-know-about-calls-for-reparations-for-britains-legacy-of-slavery-in-the-caribbean

    Is there precedent for reparations?

    As slavery ended in British Empire in the 19th C, parliament approved the payment of 20 million pounds–not to formerly enslaved Africans, but to slave owners as compensation. The UK took out a loan to pay reparations in 1833 and only paid off the debt in 2015.

    Sums up my view precisely

    “We voted, in short, to resuscitate a conservative, free enterprise, largely male, largely Pākehā, status-quo, inject it with the adrenaline of self-made-man aspiration, dress it in the smart-casual ubiquity of a mobile banker, give it a Pepsi Max and BBQ tongs, and call it a “new direction”.”

    "Rather than rely on the market to deliver large numbers of EVs at a reasonable price, European countries have offered incentives to stimulate consumer demand and to get the EV production lines moving. As a consequence in many parts of Europe EVs are available, affordable, and increasingly the vehicle of choice... markets might have (eventually) got there by themselves, but on climate change issues we don’t have the luxury of waiting to see."

    I had a thought last night. Maybe this whole Musk Twitter thing is one huge piece of performance art. Like the time a Banksy painting sold and shredded itself before the buyer picked it up. Perhaps the bonkers behaviour is an artistic statement on the meaninglessness of money to the very wealthy. Just a theory....

    @Spakit@mastodon.nz avatar

    @iangriffin I think he was backed to buy birdsite to burn it down. There was alot of collaboration, sharing & connecting on that site by the left ( actually all folks) , anyone challenging power. With main stream media owned by a few big players / local news now decimated . I don’t see a conspiracy theory in vested interests happy to throw billions to dominate as in - Uber / Amazon / oil&gas …..

    Let's be honest here Nats only plan for the justice system it to try privatize the shit out of it again like they did last time, it's got nothing to do with positive outcomes or helping people they probably have a bunch of donors who they want to give government contracts to.

    Everytime you hear Nats say they want to reform something there's some rich arsehole trying to clip the ticket on tax payers dollar's.

    Spakit,
    @Spakit@mastodon.nz avatar

    @vik @CraigKendrickNZ my concern is treatment programs are code for evangelical Christian course. Same with youth offender courses. That there is an American Fundy group sitting there waiting for the contact.

    If $13k Air Nz shares means your biased as an Govt Minister. ( how about 12Million as PM Luxon) - ok then all MPs should sell their investments & invest in blind managed funds. Except you say - that’s not fair they won’t get the tax free capital gains off their rental properties. Yeah that’s my point. MPs who own rental properties are biased when voting on capital gains tax to their ( their base’s) own advantage - 50+ white middle class
