@JoBlakely When I look back, I wince. I feel sorry for that young girl that was me. I always held a stiff upper lip, always confronted bs head on, be it another student, a nun or the headmistress, but when I was alone, I cried hard. I didn't let them get away with their shit, so in the yearbook they named me "class minority." I was one of 2 Black girls in my private high school.
