Interesting to see that this latest variant is being reported as not concerning for anyone who is vaccinated, with no mention of Long Covid. I overheard a woman pushing a stroller the other day, telling someone on her phone about the brain fog that she can’t shake off. #CovidIsNotOver#LongCovid
Actually, when I think about it, I think it was seeing tourists in Death Valley that made us talk about the coming summer. People heading to extreme weather danger zones to experience it!
I was working in Melbourne on Black Saturday, and living in Gippsland through the 2019 fires. Hopefully Tassie will be a bit cooler, but we'll take nothing for granted any more.
@chestas Even Tassie has experienced hot summers & bushfires. Reading that tourists were flown onto Rhodes & sent straight to emergency areas made my blood boil. Travellers can be incredibly ignorant & stupid but the companies involved should be hit with massive fines.
The other day my partner helped an elderly man onto a tram. (Just about picked him up!), & when we all got off at the same stop, we crossed the road with him, very slowly. Later on, on another tram, we had a very entertaining conversation with a very strange, older, possibly homeless man. Engaging with people when out & about, rather than burying ourselves in our phones or isolating ourselves in cars can be very rewarding. One day we too might need assistance & company. #Aging#Disability#MentalHealth
