Random parenting anecdote

My first child was a baby, 6 months old or so. Crying and crying, inconsolable, as babies can get. Tried all the normal stuff, no joy. For some reason I took them by the ankles and just dangled them upside down. Crying stopped immediately, calm baby

In all these years I've always thought it was confusion/distraction that did the trick, as is often the way with kids. Thinking about it now, maybe they just wanted to be upside down and I figured it out somehow

Christmas came early. Finished work for the year and opened a record shaped package from today's post

Expected the new Tim Reaper and Sully EP on Future Retro records. Found there was an additional 1 track disc included with a Reaper remix on it. A free record as a thank you for supporting the label (made me smile, the catalogue number is FR-EE)

Not seen him mentioned here but George Michael was a lovely guy by all accounts. Did a lot of good stuff without shouting about it

On a personal note Bobby, the front man of Bob Vylan is a great guy. He arranged a women only mosh pit at the last gig I went to. My wife and eldest kid met him at a festival this year, he was very sweet and not fazed by Tom launching in for a massive hug

A bit torn on the whole federation

My gut feeling is anything "Zuck" is associated with is just bad, and bad faith, if not now, longer term. Just no. Toxic

Individually, users themselves are people, maybe worth waiting and seeing

So far they seem dull, folks saying nothing or big accounts just talking to sycophants. Not really in tune with my experience of the wonderful Fedifolk

I've not blocked it but suspect it won't be long. Trying to be open to actual people but seems a mismatch

Confession. I work from home and my working life is ruled by my online calendar which everyone can see

The good part is my work is so awash with acronyms you can use anything and it doesn't get questioned. I've had a DWT meeting every day for the last 3 years, nobody has ever asked or questioned. It stands for Dog Walk Time

Easy to see why I don't want to be in the house! Note the red blanket for George (the desk also gets covered when I'm working ITB so George can block site lines to the screen) .
