I have a wedding to go to tomorrow. I hate going to weddings. Especially ones where I basically don’t know anyone.

It’s just full of socially awkward small talk I don’t care for, with people I’ll never speak to again in my life. What’s the point?

@EighthLayer Can't stand weddings, especially when I have to go for dinner and it's weird poncy food I don't like.

Then as you say, the awkward social stuff comes in.

@EighthLayer It wasn't a wedding but the best food I ever had was an anniversary I think. A huge, shallow silver bowl, maybe 1.5m in diameter, filled with chips and cut up sausage. The proper stuff from a fish & chip shop. You picked up a paper cone and helped yourself. I didn't stray far from the bowel and felt incredibly full up for some reason...

Why today? It's April the 26th. 4 + 26 = LV426, the name given to the planet where humanity discovered the devastating killing organism.

I don't know if anything will happen today, usually companies reveal merch. But here is an oldie from me, when I tried to give AvP: Requiem another chance in 2021.

Just browsing the Bluray.com forums and The Crow (4K) has a rather convoluted release in terms of the included standard BR in the EU. Might be helpful for some.

France includes the remastered BR because it's never been available before.

UK and Italy, assuming the remastered BR, not 100% sure.

UK, a BR is also being released separately, probably remastered.

In Germany, Paramount confirmed that 4K Steelbooks have old EuroVideo BR.

The remastered BR released in June.

Feeling bitten by the Fallout bug, I haven't even started the new TV show yet, I had a go at Fallout 3 to start at the (3D) beginning.

Nope. I didn't realise it was an RPG with so many numerical stats to play with. I'm not very good with games like that.

I'll just enjoy the TV show instead.

@OutofPrintArchive One of my favourite arcade games of all time. I think the SNES version is one of the better conversions. On the MegaDrive, it looks a bit weedy and small.

Also, to 100% the game for the best ending is actually quite hard as well. Thank god for MAME and unlimited credits.

Fast forward to today, discovering the CD and loading the video with VLC.

Then I started buying terrible games with bad actors that came on multiple CDs. 😄

Diary of an ASD Squirrel. Day 168 , Saturday 13/04/2024

TL:DR EDF round 2, otherwise a fairly normal Saturday.

Not a bad all told.

Up around 7am, breakfast, fussed the cats then chores.

Got an email from EDF today , once again they have buggered up the bill ! I am sick of them they really are the dregs of the Power industry !!
Monday will see the start of a search for a new Gas / electricity provider , I am done with these cowboys !!

Hit ESO to vent some frustration, sometimes being a game addict has its advantages!

The new insoles to help with the PF in my right foot arrived around lunchtime so have fitted them into relevant bits of footwear.

Finished the day watching a few more Supernatural episodes & then started a Terminator fest.
The original is from 1984, in many ways it has survived well, but the special effects fail on a HDR 4K tv, you can almost see the string in the fighter scenes !
When Arnie gets his eye damaged the automaton they use is fairly blatant.
Some of the tech is , not surprisingly, ancient now - Walkmans & old corded phones.
But for all that the film is still very watchable.

Final Thoughts.

I refuse to allow EDF to screw with my MH again - it took me 6 months to fully recover last year (into the beginning of this year) ! So adios robbing buggers .

@Tim_Eagon I had this game back in the eighties and it's always stuck with me. Probably because it was just a text adventure which as a very young boy, I found disappointing at the time.

I think a larger version of the art was used for a band album sleeve as well.

Had a walk round town, checking out the charity shops and picked up several films.

I picked up Beowulf & Grendel because, why not take a chance on Gerard Butler, always watchable. I was told it was 2 for £1, so I picked up Lone Survivor, same reasons as before. Almost bought The Martian, but I'm holding out for the extended version.

Troll Hunter was just a £1, and it's a film that's caught my interest, but I've also never seen.

Guess what reviews are hitting my blog later this week...

TL:DR some days are made for reflection - but that isn’t always necessarily a good thing.

Sunday dawned , but I wasn’t there to see it, fast asleep ‘till 8am .

A slow, lazy day. A day of sunshine & rain.

I exchanged thoughts with someone I hope I will get to know better, I realised that I am sailing the sea of life without the first clue what I’m doing! I pretend to be an adult, but really I take each day as it comes, deal with what I can & sweep the rest under the carpet ! The stuff that’s under there will take 2 lifetimes to clear !
I look at folks on here & marvel at how they cope with stuff that would have me hiding under the table !
Extreme imposter syndrome !

Final Thoughts.

See this is what happens on quiet days when my mind has far too much time to contemplate all kinds of things like life, the universe & everything!

Completed Couch to 5K, week 2, run 1 today. I definitely need this slow build up again. Just like last time, I feel like I might not be able to do it, but I keep on going. I have rather a good mind over matter, which seems to keep me going.

@CatherineFlick I always go back to the BBC app and use Jo Whitley as my trainer, love her voice.

Also, I push myself a little harder. It's supposed to be three runs a week but I do it every other day. As I've said previously, I was running 5k every other day but I took too long a break...again... 😆
