Yeah, like they don’t know how to actually do telepathy, but they essentially know that telepathy works, for sure. /s

UmeU, (edited )

Read this dude

The Stargate Project was terminated and declassified in 1995 after a CIA report concluded that it was never useful in any intelligence operation. Information provided by the program was vague and included irrelevant and erroneous data, and there were suspicions of inter-judge reliability.

If there was any evidence whatsoever that remote viewing or telepathy was a real thing which actually works, the world would be a very different place.

It takes just a few moments of critical thinking to debunk your pseudoscience claims.

Not even the CIA would be able to cover it up and someone would have collected their Million dollar prize

UmeU,

I feel like I am talking with a bot who is programmed to annoy the scientifically literate.

Let us all bask in the absurdity of your thought process:

You first say ‘the CIA says that they can perform telepathy’, and then you say ‘the CIA says that they cannot perform telepathy’, then you say ‘I don’t trust what the CIA says’, and therefore: ‘the CIA can do telepathy’

Despite this horribly flawed methodology, the concept of telepathy is widely known to be pseudoscience. The claims of telepathy do not hold up to scrutiny. Your theories are easily debunked.

Radin’s ideas and work have been criticized by scientists and philosophers skeptical of paranormal claims.https://en.wikipedia.org/api/rest_v1/page/mobile-html/Dean_Radin#cite_note-4https://en.wikipedia.org/api/rest_v1/page/mobile-html/Dean_Radin#cite_note-Stenger2002-5https://en.wikipedia.org/api/rest_v1/page/mobile-html/Dean_Radin#cite_note-Carroll-6https://en.wikipedia.org/api/rest_v1/page/mobile-html/Dean_Radin#cite_note-7 The review of Radin’s first book, The Conscious Universe, that appeared in Nature charged that Radin ignored the known hoaxes in the field, made statistical errors and ignored plausible non-paranormal explanations for parapsychological data.

You cite a quack who has a Wikipedia article that is 75% explaining how he is not a trustworthy source.

Lastly, if telepathy were a real actual thing that people can do, do realize how many other aspects of reality must also be of a conspiratorial nature? Its borderline paranoid schizophrenia to think something like telepathy is real and the CIA is covering it up.

Hopefully you can raise your standard of what constitutes evidence and apply a little more skeptical thinking when you come across wild claims that demand extraordinary evidence.

UmeU,

I showed this to my wife and she said ‘well that seems like an easy thing to beat; I could just make a turban that’s longer and bigger than that.’

Trump floats idea of three-term presidency at NRA convention (www.theguardian.com)

Donald Trump flirted with the idea of being president for three terms – a clear violation of the US constitution – during a bombastic speech for the National Rifle Association in which he vowed to reverse gun safety measures green-lighted during the Biden administration....

UmeU,

Ok hear me out…

Trump wants to be a dictator, sure. He was a terrible president and it would be a disaster if he was reelected.

Now that you know my position, listen to what he said at the NRA convention. He wasn’t saying ‘hey maybe I’ll serve 3 terms’… what he was saying was ‘if I get elected in 2024 then would that be two terms or three terms? Because we all know I was elected to a second term back in 2020 and so even though Biden is acting president, I am in my second term now, so a win in 2024 is a third term.’

The man is an idiot and rambled incoherently throughout the NRA speech. He reiterated his usual batch of racist xenophobic statements and bragged about his uncle at MIT… he is a one trick pony and there is plenty to poke fun at.

Would he tout the idea of a third term for himself? Sure! Is that what he did in this case, not precisely.

UmeU,

I disagree with her decision for a few reasons but I’ll defend her right to choose.

There are always going to be people who don’t want to be here anymore for whatever reason, and so the government needs to provide a humane way of dealing with these situations.

Like with abortion, access to controlled procedures with trained professionals reduces harm. Restricting access to safe procedures will cause more harm than it prevents.

Definitely sad. Possibly the wrong choice for her, possibly the right choice, but it’s her choice to make despite how I might feel about it.

UmeU,

She really is the Clayton Bigsby of trans people.

UmeU,

I think it is probably just genuine shitty person syndrome which is a result of being wealthy and republican.

UmeU,

This isn’t worth dying over, and olives are great so just relax a little bit.

UmeU,

As others have noted, this occurs when you trim too short and/or when you cut at an angle rather than straight across.

To fix without getting too invasive, take super small little piece of tissue paper or cotton, I’m talking real small, roll it up into a ball about the size of a granule of kosher salt, then use tweezers to wedge the ball under the nail right at the part where it hurts the most.

You will notice instant pain relief as pressure gets relieved right where the nail is digging into the skin. Replace this ball if it falls out and keep it wedged there for 3 to 5 days. This can be somewhat difficult if the nail is super short, which it usually is if you are dealing with this problem, but you should be able to wedge a small little piece up there. If you can fit a piece larger than a granule of sale then that’s even better.

The nail will start growing the right direction and will be all better in 3 to 5 days.

UmeU,

The families of the boys who took the blackface photo are suing the school, and the boys were not intentionally doing blackface, they just had skincare facemasks on. This whole situation is a big mess.

UmeU,

Well we know it can’t take a rock to the window.

UmeU,

Very beautiful, what temp and how long on the rise, and what temp and how long on the final cook?

Seems a little underdone but decent rise and nice ear

UmeU,

Maybe I just am in the habit of overcooking… I like it pretty dark.

I do 260c in a Dutch oven for 20 minutes (I have noticed better oven spring when the oven is screaming hot). I preheat the oven and Dutch oven for an hour at 260c… then 230c for another 20 minutes with the lid off for some nice dark crust.

The edge of my ear gets super crispy and dark.

Yours looks great, no criticism intended.

Any money shots of the crumb for us degenerates?

UmeU,

I was a victim of the troubled teen industry… I turned 13 there and was there for 11 months. Definitely unethical practices, and very physically demanding.

Ran away from home a few months after being released and never went back.

UmeU,

Homeless on and off until I turned 18 which was tough at times but I think it’s easier to be homeless when you’re young… I traveled a lot and had a lot of interesting experiences. Then when I turned 18 I started to get serious about life and I managed to find a medium sized company which gave me a lot of opportunity. By 24 I had a corporate job pretty high in the company when I went into partnership with the companies’ marketing director.

Having experienced extended periods with no food or shelter, and also having that strict discipline drilled into me during those 11 months at ‘camp’, I think I was uniquely prepared to focus entirely on achieving some pretty big dreams.

With a lot of perseverance and a lot of luck, everything turned out pretty good. Own my own companies, on track to retire young.

Everyone tells me I should write a book but I am not the best writer.

UmeU,

Is that how that one person cheated and Magnus refused to play or something like that?

UmeU,

Cat gets treats when the dishwasher starts, not sure if I trained him or if he trained me but that is what happens 100% of the time or else he gets loud.

What's a band that has one album that is just about perfect in your opinion, but rest of their discography misses the mark with you?

One of mine is Commit This to Memory by Motion City Soundtrack. I basically took the title verbatim and know the album word for word. And while I would love if it did, the rest of MCS’s stuff just doesn’t hit the same way....

What's a common occurrence in your hobby that you think shouldn't be?

For me it’s driving while under the influence. If you couldn’t tell, I like me some ganja. However I have long since held the belief that it is utterly insane to drive while under the influence of most substances, with maybe nicotine and caffeine being the exception. All too often I see other stoners smoking and driving,...

UmeU,

Not wearing helmets has always been the norm for skateboarders… a shame too because even the well experienced are susceptible to the occasional concussion. All it takes is one bad landing and your skateboarding days are over. Wear a helmet people, set a good example for the younger generations.

UmeU,

This whole anti-fluoride thing is just a psyop brought to us by big toothpaste and the ADA… that’s the real conspiracy, wake up sheeple! /s

UmeU,

I appreciate the effort in keeping this community alive but claims of the ‘paranormal’ just don’t seem creepy to me.
