I design software for schools, doing research, systems design, illustration, ui and graphic design.

I believe things can and should be better. The economy, internet, politics, are made by humans and in our power to change, they aren’t laws of nature.

Figma help needed! Sort of. I have some colleagues who will be using Figma for the first time soon. Do you have any Figma introductory courses or resources that you can recommend?

I specifically would like ones you know are good - from doing them or people recommending them. (I have of course used search engines myself already)

At what point do you stop investing in one way relationships?

It is wearying always being the first to reach out, to check in. The only one to extend an invitation.

I understand we all have seasons of life. I'm not talking months, I'm talking years.

To genuinely try to connect with someone only to be repeatedly met with indifference is hard. And I'm not sure I can take it anymore. Genetics or not.

Do I say something? Or just fade away?

@MsHearthWitch I largely stepped away from any relationship with my parents for many years, only having ‘minimally polite’ interactions with them. We did talk more later on, but much more like acquaintances than family. It let me reestablish a sense of who I was and feel some self worth, possibly a literal life saver!

I am genuinely curious how many of the folks messaging me asking me to explain why CW-ing food is harmful have messaged folks who ask to CW food the same thing.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I suspect probably not?

I think our society generally accepts this idea that putting food behind warnings is right. Hiding it away. Viewing it as shameful, guilty pleasures, something only to be earned...

So they readily buy into the "oh yes, CW food is good" without the same critique/examination.

The interior building work is done! A couple of weeks ago I was regretting ever starting and wondering if it’d ever get done. This is the difference professional builders make. RIP my savings but yay workshop! My plywood palace. 😄 Just needs to dry out and I can get the electrics and floor tiles in. And paint and varnish.
