I design software for schools, doing research, systems design, illustration, ui and graphic design.

So say you have three colours/patterns:

Acid yellow/green stripes, bright, attention grabbing
Blue, the colour of sky, the endless expanse of air above
Brown, the colour of earth

and three electrical wires

Live - will probably kill you with bright burning sparks
Neutral - the return path back to the infinite expanse of void
Earth - the bit literally connected to the Earth, just in case

You can see where I’m going with this.

    Gunnera occasionally appears on Gardener’s World, I thought it looked nice (too big for our garden though) and now it’s banned in the UK.

    Turns out the ‘ok’ one that wasn’t banned isn’t actually ok, and is an invasive hybrid as well. It’s all banned now. So, stop watering it, etc.

    It has the same status as Japanese Knotweed now!

    Used to always recommend kirbycms but not sure I can now. First thing I tried didn’t work, so I asked on the forums. Got essentially ’what did you expect, we don’t say everything works’ for the demo theme it comes with. The demo theme that is ‘fully annotated’ but doesn’t say it’s only a partial thing.

    I was hoping not to have to add my own patches to the core of a cms to style a gallery of images. 🙄

    Ah, this time of year when all the retailers decide to ignore your “no I don’t want your stupid newsletter or marketing emails” setting and spam you anyway.

    Garden and plant companies are the worst. David Austin Roses got really arsey with me when I asked them to stop sending me their catalogues through the post. Like how dare I not be thanking them for sending it to me. 😅

    (Bit of a shame, I do love roses, but other sellers do exist)

    This is making me giggle today.

    An asshole's comment: "Why is he overweight?" shows on the screen. A person in jeans and a sweatshirt, with short hair and a headband comes out from beside the house, prancing. They are a bit overweight. As the music crescendos the person starts dancing (very well!) and the text appears on screen, slowly. "Because I'm much better at cooking than you," with a sarcastic smiley face. The person drops it like it's hot and the text "Thanks for checking" appears. It is a video by zaccharybird.

    How the hell are you supposed to view any video on Instagram or TikTok? They’re half covered with text and usernames and comments and labels and buttons and icons and gizmos and whatnots and even if there are captions on the video they’re hidden under all the crap and you’ve got maybe a third of the screen left where a video is sort of playing

    Who is this even for?
