EVs cost more to build than the big automakers thought, so they kept the prices up and started with higher end models, which only the high end consumer can afford.
That's why sales are slow. Turning into some public indictment of EVs in general is silly.
@virtualbri RIGHT? Ford dropped the price of t he Mach-E and it's selling crazy good. The problem is not EV's, the problem is no good selection of reasonably priced EVs.
Also sales in EV's keep going up year of year, but the competition is grown A LOT, so market share for all the players is smaller. Shrinking market share for Tesla does not mean people hate EV's, it means there are more choices.
Stupid #linux question: I need to find a way to ensure that a network share is mounted at ALL times, even after a reboot. Why. My #jellyfin server loves to punish me and wipe my libraries because specific mounts are not mounted. A simple "sudo mount -a" and a Scan All Libraries fixes the problem but it's still annoying when I install updates and reboot.

@jcrabapple ya personally I don't see the issue. If you're in a Mastodon client, you won't get pushed ads, you won't get pushed algorithms, you'll just see the posts from users you followed and in chronological order.... Threads just gets treated like another instance
I did it! I put my M.2 SSD into the USB enclosure, I then plugged it in my linux laptop, got the file system mounted, was able to copy its mysql data dir to my laptops mysql data dir, start the mysql server and poof! was able to export my DB. Now it's up and running on AWS and all is good! Yee Haw!!!! #Linux#AWS#Sendy#MySQL

@gairdeachas ugh ya, I had to change jobs and my new job, even though hired as a principal engineer, I still have new employee PTO levels, it's so dumb, you should get a vacation level that is consistent with your level, not your years of service. It's an old methodology that doesn't make sense anymore.
@jcrabapple just got told by my solar company they can't install solar cause we live in a shared building so there's some kinda rules against it. So lame.... Meanwhile PG&E is trying to raise prices by 22%
