Lamppost EV chargers are the answer to how you charge your vehicle in cities.

This is possible because when energy intensive street lamps were replaced by LEDs, there’s excess power for charging EVs.

All cities should do this. ⚡️

@MsMerope But yes, that would be #1 on my list of "bad stuff that could happen in 2024" list (for folks who don't live in hurricane areas). And, globally. #2 is super-crazy-hurricanes level Texas, Louisiana, or Florida. #3 is H5N1 hops from cows to humans and then it's all bets off. #4 is western wildfires, but that is an assumed risk; that said, a lot of the flammable stuff caught fire in the last 8 years or so, so less fuel. But heatwaves are #1.

The more I use my commercial handheld radios, the more I kind of dislike my amateur handhelds. Of course the commercial radios don't have the amateur friendly features, but they just work really well with very little (if any) flakiness. And they are rugged. And yes, you pay for it.

I'll never abandon my amateur handhelds, but sometimes I wish they were just better.

It is, indeed, the Spanish word for slime, more at frothing at the mouth. A mother, cleaning the food and saliva off her baby's mouth, here seen as a plural "quédate vos, déjame limpiarte tus babas"

It is actually "la baba" in Spanish, usually translated as drool. So I could see maybe going with something like "Te Cae La Baba" (you're drooling) as a name for, I dunno, a food truck.

But yeah, that's probably a different Baba.

Safety note: do not accidentally stab yourself with a steak knife reaching for something else in the dish rack, LOL. It's painful, even if you don't break the skin. If it looks like I was in a knife fight, it was just with myself 😂

Old tools...

We snagged a manual typewriter from a garage sale a decade ago. Our kids had a birthday party, and I could hear clacking coming from my kid's room. After a minute, a little girl ran out, excitedly saying to everyone "There's a kind of printing machine with buttons!"

Sometimes I use an old brace, with a holder for 1/4" hex shank power tool bits in the jaws. Then the brace becomes a high torque screwdriver. Maybe with a bit of wax on the screw threads!
