New #DollarBinDiscovery episode! What does a pulp hero from the 1930s have in common with a bunch of meddling teenagers? They're our choices for this episode's theme of "classic characters!"
Writeups.org (est. 1999) has thousands of detailed fictional character profiles. Chiefly from #comics (principally #dccomics and #marvelcomics), but with a large selection of #videogames, pulp novels, movies, etc. characters.
It is primarily a #TTRPG site. But it is often used by #fanfic folks, comics fans, gamers, #cosplay makers, or just to look at the pictures.
You can follow writeups.org's RSS feed on the Fedi, via @www.writeups.org@rss-parrot.net .
New episode! This week we're talking about Amalgam Comics, the publisher that mashed up DC and Marvel comic characters! So it only makes sense to honor our show format and create a very special Dollar Bin Discovery episode with the help of a special guest expert!
I just finished reading Batman - The Long Halloween. It is without a doubt a masterpiece. I’ve said it here before, but the duo Jeoh Loeb and Tim Sale is very very good. Sale’s drawings are very expressive and authorial. I was quite shocked by the plot twist on the last page, it was impressive. I recommend reading.
I just started reading Batman - The Long Halloween, with the script by Jeph Loeb, art by Tim Sale and colors by Greg Wright. I imagine it may not have pleased everyone, but Sale’s art and Wright’s colors are phenomenal.
I just finished reading Batman - The Refurn of the Dark Knight, by Frank Miller, Klaus Janson and Lynn Varley. I really like this edition, it’s an outstanding discussion. It seems that, as always, the world is heading for cycles of entropy because of the traps we create ourselves. Unfortunately, we don’t have a Batman in real life to fix all the crappy things we did to ourselves.
I’ve had this game for several years, but now that I’m looking at it carefully. I just finished Chapter I and I can say that it is a very engaging story. For those who are a fan of Batman Year One, this game is for you.
Despite the problems it went through, Telltale has always known how to make narrative games of exceptional quality. It’s no different here.
@comics The story is so engaging that I couldn’t turn off the game and I decided to keep playing a little bit more. I’ve finished Chapter 2 now. What a fantastic game! What a twist!

I’ve just finished reading
Batman: Arkham Asylum - A Serious House on Serious Earth by Grant Morrison and Dave McKean. It’s outstanding in every way, a masterpiece.
