I'm going to throw this out there and it may sound a bit controversial, but keep in mind I have nearly 20 years's experience as an entrepreneur. Is there ANYONE who works with business owners or business owners who don't just regurgitate the same allistic/neurotypical "marketing advice" that's sold all over the groups and "free offers"? Because I'm not seeing anyone doing anything different from the NTs. @actuallyautistic @actuallyautistics

aloopapu,

@KitMuse @actuallyautistic @actuallyautistics I have been self employed. Marketing always felt like Step Right Up by Tom Waits.

sahat, to actuallyautistic

I once had a relationship with an AuDHD male. He had a certain trait. It's not very common, but I have heard from people that experience this.
It was scary and it ended the realtionship. He used to get into a form of meltdown where he would be uncontrollably agitated.. Rage, despair, IDK what to call it. It looked like anger. And then he would loose the memory about what had transpired. He did not recall what he had said or how he had behaved. It must be hard to live with this, cus I am sure, it wrecks relationships, period. Now I am curious, have any of you this trait, has anyone experienced this, either in my role or in his? I would be interested to hear more about this. I recently talked to him after many years of silence. It brought this all up. He didn't know about his neurodivergence at the time. And it scared the heck out of him to be hearing me describe, what took place, when he stopped having memory.

Once I was diagnosed I had a hard look at my past self. Decisions I had made, failure after failure, letting down others...
I realized that because of my lack of diagnosis that there was no other choices I could have made. I couldn't have done better because of the environment I was in.
I forgave my self and my family for everything. It took time and effort but then I was done, I was done with the past.

Do you use the word "Neurodivergent"?

Why or why not?

Do you think it's ableist?

If you don't use it, what word do you use?

#ActuallyAutistic #AskingAutistics @actuallyautistic

aloopapu,

@eo @theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic I like to use neurodiverse for my situation because I have several neurodivergences within myself.

flawed, to anarchism

Stating the obvious

Anarchist society wont be an utopia.

We all will have quite passionate & bitter conflicts with each other even in anarchist society, but we resolve them thru means other than mere violence or appeal to the morality (or lack there of) of bigger goon like State (which is what we do now & the whole point of Courts who allegedly give us so called "Justice"). We will have no overlord who imposes their will over our disputes & we will learn to live with knowing the fact that we cant impose our will unjustly over others & if we try to be unjust, others will fight back using physical violence if necessary & that violence is considered legitimate by most in society.

Thats the only sensible way to live so far as I can see.

Anarchist society will be as realistic human society as it will ever be, but built around disincentivising violence & dehumanisation. When each of us know we cant dominate the next person without serious consequences, we learn to create structures that disincentivises conflict, ones that are built around our needs where violence is not profitable to engage in.

Current conflict "resolution" is primarily built around appealing to the threat of violence by a bigger goon like State (i.e imposing the will of ruling class over all of us), which is no resolution, rather it's an open threat by ruling class.

In anarchist society (just like in every society — anarchist/not), ultimate tool will always be threat/manifestation of violence, but this threat will be from those who suffered/likely suffer harm because of our actions & inactions. They will have near equal power to me/you & if we try to be unfair to them, we need to operate under the assumption that we have near equal thing to lose.

There will be no higher power to appeal to other than negotiating our way out of the dispute in question (or) learn to live with it.

If anyone doesn’t mind much I have a random question!
Not so much a poll, but does anyone else sometimes have the problem of seeing things from too many angles, i was wondering if it worsens by expanding perceptions. I don’t mean in a hallucinations way, it’s just like they kinda contour in almost like a dataset, of theoretical, probability etc.or what could that be like, what could cause that, I know for myself it’s difficult. But rewarding in many ways. Please and thank you

I was beaten and stalked by a boyfriend in college many decades ago. It was extremely traumatic. There's no reason to for anyone to bring this up in conversation, unless they want to hurt me. A college "friend" just did. This is why I fucking hate people. ☹️

How did my #ActuallyAutistic comrades come to know that they’re autistic?

#AskingAutistics @actuallyautistic

aloopapu,
spika, to actuallyautistic

One of the things that made it really hard for me to even consider that I might be autistic was the reputation that (verbal) autistics have for being direct and literal communicators.

I've never felt like I am a particularly direct communicator because of how often I have misunderstandings with people, autistic and allistic alike, for not being direct enough and relying too much on things like context clues and body language to reveal how I'm feeling about a particular thing rather than just coming out and being direct by saying it with words, and I think it's particularly a struggle around issues where there are a lot of mixed emotions and uncertainty around feelings.

@actuallyautistic

aloopapu,

@spika @actuallyautistic if I feel nervous or serious about something I will adopt a more autistic way of talking and reading. Becoming Very literal when others are not causes problems which can put me in a spiral.

We could have a mandatory two-year program between high school and college where students serve the nation between by helping communities prepare for and/or repair climate change damage. They could be placed in parts of the nation very different from their own and with a diverse mix of their peers, both ethnically and socio-economically.
