So I just did basically this exact trip-and-fall (including the gasp) walking back up the three stairs in the hall between the living room and the bedroom, carrying a bagel and a glass of water...

The bagel flew to a safe spot and is OK. The towels are soaking up the water that I threw. My toe and knees hurt, and I have a scratch on my shin. I'm totally fine.

I require both pity and ridicule.

@LikeItOrLumpIt Thank you, Annie. I might need to purchase a set of knee and elbow pads, and maybe a safety helmet, so that I don't amble-injure myself.

@Linkshaender Gravity is, in fact, a harsh mistress over here. Was talking to the dude about how in all the years we've been together, he's fallen exactly once - by being dragged by Gracie over gravel, so highly justified - but I've tipped over at least ten times, mostly for no reason. Tried to get him to tell me his secret, and he shrugged and said something like 'maybe I pay attention to where I'm going?'

She is a palomino Appaloosa Thoroughbred.

She is being weaned this week. It makes for noisy evenings.
