Hmmm maybe this is a bird, dog, and cow photo account?
I do research in computer vision and robotics for agriculture. PhD in ECE.

I like plants, agriculture, photography, gardening. And birds! I got into animal & bird photography in late 2020.

Oh hello my precious .... how are you after .... 4 years????

I got to the lab today , colleague --- mounted the large robot arm for me and cleared the shop for my use. Whew a lot to remember since the last time I used this.

I got networking to work, and was like, "success for today, bail."

Next --- funny shop safety sign.

@jerzone 's ride sign posts have inspired me to look at signs more critically.

What if I had the energy of a Carolina Wren? We have one that sings its little heart out for hours on a railing, morning and evening.

Sassy the Ayrshire the day after our 1-day weekend show, relaxing in the buttercups at Mom's. Next photo -- bovine photobomb.

I think this is Spunky the Ayrshire, edging in on Sassy's photo. Sassy looks appalled, but really she is just chewing her cud and flapping her ears against flies.

This needs its own post.
First off, I’d love to explore it, especially the very top. But what is up with the windows?? The center jumble on second floor to start, but even the far right windows on 1st, 2nd, 3rd floor all have different spacing. Middle decks are staggered, in fact the whole middle “shaft” seems like an add-on. The left/right 3rd story roofs don’t match, other than the slate.

⭐️8 stars, keep people guessing!

@jerzone I'm reading The Haunting of Hill House and was reminded of the house's description here ...

And the port-a-john is somehow a chef's kiss move for this photo.

Some of the gorgeous Eastern Bluebirds, these in the backyard during a light rain. First set: focus on the female. Next post: focus on the male. 1/2

    Nikon z6ii, f/8, 1/640s, ISO 3200, 700mm, braced on a fence post.

Same birds, similar positions, but the female has shifted around a bit. The male is out of focus and blurry, just a bit of blue.

One of my plant orders is on its way from Canada and yes

I know essentially I will receive what looks like a lot of sticks (bare root trees) but still super super excited about the growing season!

I've done a lot in the garden yesterday and today and I am paying for it physically.

I'm trying to space out the physical stuff by making plant labels for the first time, instead of trying to remember plant orders from years in the past.

New OS stuff continued .... I really dislike dealing with GPUs. I remember the bad old days in early 2010s when you had to rebuild the kernel with the nvidia driver every time there was a kernel update. Like sometimes I started work and there was no display. I started to avoid updates before presentations & paper deadlines.

It seems* that I now have cuda and the nvidia drivers installed. Yeah pretty teapot.

*I leave room for being wrong

I had an appointment in Delaware & stopped at a park before driving back. Super fun. There was an Osprey nest near a Canada Goose nest. Whenever the Osprey pair was together, an Osprey would strafe the geese.

I was too far away for detail, even w/ a teleconverter, but I remembered some things, learned some things, & captured some interesting shapes. (Next post, goose tongue detail)

Virginia Bluebell flowers. These plants are what's known as an 'ephermeral' -- very short life cycle, one moment, nothing, the next, they are blooming. It is hard to describe -- I really like the leaf texture and color of this plant.

[optimizing workspace to minimize pain] my husband completed his latest upgrade, mounting my adjustable desk to a slide so I can push / pull it into position and adjust up / down.

Previously, he built me a wooden platform where I can sit cross-legged, I can rotate the platform and lie down for long trainings & videos. The platform is sort of stationary, so we needed a way to easily move the desk and this slide solution is fantastic.

Posted to give others with issues ideas.

Side view of all the parts stacked one on top of another.
position when the desk is close in when I am sitting there.
position of the desk pushed back such that I can get out of the desk.

I've just gotten a paper re-sumbitted! It somehow took > year and has been a slog, I needed to re-release the code, which lead to redoing the docker image, as well as updating the data release .... you get the idea.
