My parents have had this thing on our phones since 2020 where it locks at 10 but they don't know that earlier this year I found out the password to unlock it :aSakuraRushGame:
movies were in a really awesome place pre-covid and during the lockdowns where you'd hear about a movie in theaters and you'd be able to look up exactly when it'd be out on bluray and it'd generally only be a month or two out
these days everything I want to see spends like two weeks in theaters and disappears for months before randomly appearing on some streaming service
@jackdaw_ruiz I wonder how much money they wasted getting those weirdass custom tires made and also how much it would cost an end user to get them replaced
it doesn't even seem possible to disable autoplay so if you hesitate a little too long while you're scrolling through thumbnails one will start animating and then if you click it it'll just resume from there and you'll lose the audio from the beginning part
my parents cranked the water heater temperature and now it's a little too hot for showers or hand washing but at least I can anneal PLA in the kitchen sink
@momo the only thing harder than making two computers successfully talk over a network is making one computer successfully create media that can be plugged into another computer and successfully read
just checked a major review site and not a single smart TV was released in the past two years without integrated ads that you can't opt out from or disable. that's depressing.
@gsuberland I sort of agree with you but people do tend to keep TVs for 5+ years and manufacturer software support, outside of maybe the flagship LG TVs, does not last nearly that long
@gsuberland which is well and good for people who know how to troubleshoot things, but how do I explain to my parents "okay so after you own this TV for a few years the apps are gonna get all laggy or stop working, so you'll have to buy [futuristic roku thing] and start using that instead. also once you do that, don't forget to cut off your tv's internet access so it doesn't get hacked or whatever"
