I have found it very hard to explain to non-SFans that (1) Waymos are really, really common here and (2) I’ve never once seen them violate a traffic law, whereas I can’t leave my house without seeing human drivers speed, run stop signs, make illegal turns, etc.

I was gifted some great knit fabric yesterday! a midweight navy knit with adorable pink and yellow speckles. Now I need to find a pattern to make - maybe you can help?

I am thinking: 3/4 sleeves, almost knee length, a-line shape or at least loose and comfy.

I might modify the sleeves on

I'm probably going to regret this - but I need to do some smol local python dev. I want to use some kind of virtual environment instead of installing packages globally.

I'm looking at venv - this mostly makes sense: https://packaging.python.org/en/latest/guides/installing-using-pip-and-virtual-environments/

Poetry let me down on my last computer, and I'm not enjoying Conda on my work computer, so I'd rather not use either of those.

Given that background, do you have any advice for me?

Re: fastmail setup - I followed some great directions for setting up contacts and calendar on my iphone. yay!

but I can't seem to find them again now that I want to set up same on my ipad.

it was a qr code that would import a profile, it was not the create an app password instructions.

help appreciated!

Joining the chorus of “i should move my Wordpress blog”

I’m technical but i have no interest in running any kind of server, which is why i have a hosted blog in the first place.

I do have a static page hosted by netlfiy, but someone walked me through it and i don’t understand it or what the limits are.

I’m willing to run some commands. But i do still want RSS and some inline images.

Specific advice very welcome - hosted blog alternatives, simple setups for hosting it somewhere at a low cost.

it feels kind of small, but I LOVE gathering all the hard work a team has done and sharing it back to them - it's so rare to take a minute to say "WOW, we did a Lot!" but I think it really matters, and it always feels good when I can help make it happen for folks.
