Pro-tip: don’t use a weight on an automatic turntable, or at least not on the Audio Technica AT-LP60X. It pushes the platter down into the auto-return mechanism and triggers it. Going to give my weight to a friend with a manual turntable.

@Dylan I haven’t noticed any benefit to be honest. I bought it purely because I thought it looked cool. I suppose it could help with some warped discs, but the benefit is minimal.

    @jcrabapple @bazkie I took a month of coffee some years ago and found it just made me sad not to have coffee. Didn’t sleep any better, didn’t feel less anxious, didn’t feel less alert, just felt like I’d like a cup of coffee.

    I give up. No matter how many times I try to explain in all forms, or let her ask me first to be sure she just keep falling for it😟

    Anybody else feel like they can enjoy a wider variety of music if played on rather than from a streaming service? I’d never seek out a album on Apple Music, but today I threw on my record just because I had it handed down to me. I’ve spun through it twice.

    Moving to a new instance, so I suppose it’s time for a new . I’m a (not-computer) engineer from the east coast US, and I love history, FOSS, nautical fiction, low budget movies, and the occasional cocktail (and I can always find an occasion). Jumping to from a large but more specialized instance so I don’t feel like I’ll be annoying people for posting about whatever pops into my head unrelated to that specialty.

    Have been on for a good while, and seem to jump off and on the wagon. Hopefully reading and posting here is a better habit than Reddit has become for me.

    Looking forward to yelling at clouds! Send me your drink recipes and pictures of ships!
