Hide My Email is one of Apple's best features in years, but please someone add a quick deactivate address option directly in Mail.app. The current deactivation process is so clunky.

Anyone else get an email from about changes to how they sync files in ?

It's written in corporate-speak ("We're improving things!"/We're actually making things worse) so I'm not 100% clear what is happening. It seems to be saying syncing will stop, but in the same email also says some files will remain in sync.

Anyone know what's happening?

@beach @ronanmcd I believe they’re getting rid of the sync service - the Dropbox-like part of the CC cloud offering; so files will no longer be synced up/down to your Mac/PC. I never used this feature tbh ✌️

I hope prioritizes federation over some of the flashier features, including the follower timeline. Once you're able to follow people on Mastodon, Ivory (and other third-party apps) will handle it automatically.

@mikehaynes honestly, having been on there a bit, it’s completely different to Mastodon, totally different vibe, and that doesn’t mean it can’t federate, but I kinda think it is its own beast, and maybe it shouldn’t — seems like that would make a lot of Mastodon users happy too 😅

The Pocket app on my iPhone was automatically updated to the latest version.
I haven't seen a jankier scroll since maybe Android 4.0 in 2011.

I’ve tried to lose weight all year so seeing this message in the Withings app this morning made me very happy 🥹

In February I weighted 88.5 kg and in May I was down to 86 kg but it was going too slow for my liking. I started exercising more, eating better, and drinking less alcohol. I also made a goal to weigh 80 kg by the end of June.

The past 14 days I’ve been fluctuating between 79.8 kg and 80.3 kg. Ups and downs are expected. This is roughly 80 kg. Goal achieved! 🙌

Looks like Bluesky is using a third party AI company ‘thehive .ai’ to identify post content for moderation — any data collected, Hive can provide to its other customers, to train generative AI models — so if you post your work there, it is being directly fed into training generative AI image/video/text 👎
