boaratio,

โ€ฆand yet, no limits on how fast motorcycles, cars, and trucks can go ๐Ÿค”

boaratio,

I legit love Super Troopers 2. I regularly rewatch it, especially the Hockey Night in Canada scene. Highly recommend.

boaratio,

I invented a leaf blower that is 100% silent and is shaped like a rake.

I think weโ€™re on to something here. Like, different rakes for different things to rake up. Brilliant!

boaratio,

Weโ€™ve only lived at our new rural house for a year, but weโ€™ve seen such a huge variety of birds this year. Great pic BTW!

boaratio,

I think itโ€™s because enshitification is just sort of everywhere now.

boaratio,

I think thatโ€™s your body telling you that you have low blood sugar.

boaratio,

I guess Iโ€™m in the minority, but I really like Starfield, warts and all.

boaratio,

Whenever Iโ€™m angry, I like to watch this clip of Katie Perry getting absolutely rocked with slime at the Nickelodeon awards.

boaratio,

Guitar Center is the Best Buy of music equipment.

boaratio,

I personally really hate the term โ€œpay their fair shareโ€ because if itโ€™s implications. I would much rather hear something like โ€œpay like the rest of usโ€ because itโ€™s about percentages, not actual dollars.

boaratio,

Also, he wrote the lyrics to Johnny Cashโ€™s hit song, A Boy Named Sue.

boaratio,

Oof. TIL.

'Vortex Cannon vs Drone' - Mark Rober shows off tech from a "defense technology company that specializes in advanced autonomous systems". That seems bad

Iโ€™ve enjoyed Mark Roberโ€™s videos for a while now. They are fun, touch on accessible topics, and have decent production value. But this recent video isnโ€™t sitting right with me...

Remember when he faked his first fart bomb video because he used his friends to play the part of the porch pirates? That was years ago.

Edit: My memory was a little fuzzy on exactly the nature of the incident was. See my follow up comment for a link to an article that explains what actually happened.

boaratio,

My memory of this was a little off, but hereโ€™s the source: Engadget

boaratio,

Why is Pat Smear briefly in this video?

boaratio,

Iโ€™ve been an elementary OS user for something like 7 years. And Iโ€™ve been running Linux as my only OS since 1999. Previously I had been running Ubuntu since warty warthog, but switched to elementary when Ubuntu introduced their horrible unity desktop.

elementary is a great Linux distribution, and is a great user experience. The ONLY 2 negatives that I can think of are that it lags other distros because itโ€™s based on Ubuntu LTS releases, and it has no upgrade mechanism so you have to wipe and reinstall with each release.

I use it for work, gaming, and all my various side projects and havenโ€™t had any issues with any of those. Give it a go and see if it feels right for you.

Which movies have aged like fine wine? (either in their message or cinematography)

I recently saw โ€˜Donโ€™t Look Nowโ€™ (1973). Good picture, a little slow perhaps by todayโ€™s standards but worthy of any movie enjoyerโ€™s time! So this movie was shot in Venice. Venice itself being an already beautiful spot to film even today. The way we get to look in a time capsule of Venice in the 70s makes the movie that...

boaratio,

I kind of love the TV Series he made, Wayward Pines.

boaratio,

I almost failed out of college thanks to Soul Calibur.
