The good news: You have found a way to reliably reproduce a hang you've seen intermittently and the new Xcode Hang detection helped you quickly narrow down its source. (🎉)

The bad news: It is caused by some very old Objective-C model logic which you haven't touched in years and are terrified of making any changes to. (😔)

My grandmother passed away today. I feel so privileged to have known her, and for my children – her great-grandchildren! – to have known her too. 98 is a fantastic age, and I’ll always remember her love and kindness ❤️

    @grammargirl I had an experience a few years ago when we had a very small very short earthquake near the surface. We experienced it more like a sonic boom than any sort of typical earthquake.

    I’ve used “via” since 2006, learned it from newsies, never had issue b4 this

    I use it bc takes up no space. Even “ takes up space, esp on threads you seem to apprec.

    • time. When I post breaking news, even typing “ puts me behind while juggling coverage from multi-sources

    • bc of 20K followers, wading thru replies takes an hour+ every am. I won’t ignore your replies, as someone sugg. I read/care about them.

    @GottaLaff Thank you for the helpful reading. I’m grateful. A suggestion: Via might get overlooked less if it is not followed by a blank line. Colons hug two ideas together neatly in the terse space we have. And emoji can be a superb way to dress up Via 📢

    @GottaLaff that’s fair. And I agree it should not be a thing. A percentage of every audience will always get it wrong. And designing for that audience does a disservice for the overall readership. I appreciate your efforts always yet rarely reply because that just adds work.

    @schwa my flight attendant rescued mine from a recess on the floor in first class. The cabin crew had someone who specialized in AirPod rescues and said it happened every flight at least once, sometimes successfully.

    I can’t quite remember exactly what my first Mac was, but it was around 2006/2007 and it was the base model white 13” MacBook with an Intel Core 2 Duo. And as much as I enjoyed using it, I’ve always wished I spent the extra £100 to get it in black. 🫠

    It bothers me that the launch date of the Vision Pro was announced in a press release.

    I was certain that this would have warranted an event in itself, where Apple could tell more of the story and invite third-party developers who have built great experiences for the platform.

    I think Apple have yet to convince me why I should strap a $3,500 computer to my head.

    Remember how I posted that our car got totaled a couple weeks ago? We bought a new car partially with the insurance payout from that (well, still used, but by far the newest car we've ever owned). It's a plug-in hybrid, which is completely perfect for our rural living situation! I'm excited.

    But WOW, it's the first car I've ever had that's not a beater, and it feels like driving a freaking spaceship. I think I'm going to actually have to sit down and read the owner's manual. Any tips?

    6 composite photos of Dick Van Dyke (& me, my class) in black box theater of public perform. arts high school where I taught/directed Comedy class/shows. Dick wanted to see us in action, loved it, asked me to write/direct his annual theater prod. to "make it funnier."

    I couldn't believe Dick Van Dyke asked ME to make HIM funnier. Did it for 2 yrs, finally had to quit due to time conflicts.

    He visited us, played w/ us, had a ball! I'm the redhead in blue jeans. Here we go!
