Bolts are being replaced by Blazers at Chevy but the U.S has definitely made an affordable EV. If you qualify for the rebate, and especially if your state has its own, it’s much cheaper than an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicle.

That’s just upfront. Then consider that maintenance is roughly 30% less and you’ll typically pay 30-60% less on energy/mile compared to an ICEV. Article from January but still.

It looks like GM had some second thoughts. This will be years away though.

Rabbit's R1 sounds like a major security disaster waiting to happen

“There's no artificial intelligence or large action model in sight”

"What's even more alarming is that they ask you to login through their web portal, which is just a virtual machine connected via NoVNC. They also expect you to fill in your private passwords on their VMs. To make matters worse, they store the user sessions on their machines without any additional layers of security.”

I need y’all to convince me not to go back and buy this.

(There’s writing on the box that is a term that’s been used as an ableist slur so I’m blurring it; there’s an asset tag on it from an elementary school so I’m guessing it actually belonged to the special education department and the writing was not intended as a slur.)

brian,

@trixter What a steal! I bought one new for $65 in Hong Kong years ago and lost it a couple years after purchase.

@schwa Morioka is getting all the attention right now thanks to Craig Mod. That said, we're looking forward to hitting more smaller cities like it on our next trip.

@schwa Ever been during Sakura? I've never taken a spring vacation but thinking it might be better to do something like that sooner rather than later.

@schwa Seems like everyone was going this fall, at the very least to take advantage of Zipair out of SJC.

I like the idea of Disney’s California Adventure park redoing a weird little area into a Big Hero 6 inspired version of “San Fransokyo”

But the the first time I saw video of it I immediately realized today’s Bay Area could have actually looked like this if the US didn’t round up and forcibly remove over 100,000 people of Japanese descent in 1942, destroying their homes and businesses to put them in concentration camps.

    brian,
    @brian@xoxo.zone avatar

@mathowie not to mention the West coast’s habit of burning burn Chinese communities any time they were on desirable land in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Chuckling about these teenage hackers in 1984 who NASA's Marshall Space Science Laboratory and sent messages to sysadmins including "I think it is clear by now that you are up against some of the best in the Huntsville area" & "you can't catch me". All fun and games until the FBI came knocking.

I've only known I was gay for a few years, but I really appreciate how all the friends I've spoken to about it have either been very supportive or haven't even cared at all.

However, comments like this from a YouTube rando deserve an unequivocal response:

    • Yes, I support pride.
    • Yes, I consider myself woke.
    • Pride includes everyone; there's no LGB without the T.

I've never sworn on Twitter in the 14 years I've been there, but as this is Mastodon: this person can fuck right off.
