nerd, weirdo, person, whatever. i enjoy bad puns and you will see them. i also like going off on random tangents about tech, movies, or other random things of interest. fun activities include having mental health and flight simulation.

you may enjoy my work on mediawiki & wikipedia, or my wacky webassembly codecs. or my cat photos!

formerly of mastodon.technology and identi.ca (so it goes)

no bio means no follow request approval! just be cool. :)

ugh i still kinda want to do a wasm->6502 compiler just for the travesty of it

it's not really a great match because the type/op sizes for wasm are only 32 and 64 bits, like a modern risc-ish machine

compliant linear memory (supporting 64-kb pages) would obvs require a paged expanded memory device

for forty full years of my life i thought the chorus to toto's "africa" was "i miss the rains down in africa" and was about starcrossed lovers who met in the peace corps

pretty sure this is not evidence of parallel universes, though, i'm just bad at hearing lyrics

is Filemaker Pro still around?

at an old uni job we had a buncha stuff in that

the server originally ran on a classic Mac, serving out queries from html forms or something (very slowly)

we replaced it with an XServe, apple's rackmount server running OS X (as was the style at the time), that thing was great

this was g4/g5 days? i was able to do stuff like install the os on the xserve's drive from my powerbook using firewire target disk mode

i like to write:

let var1 = ...;
let var2 = ...;
return { var1, var2 };

instead of

return {
var1: ...,
var2: ...
};

for one thing it's a lot easier to add debug console.logs to ;)

they made a second season of "milf manor", the reality show where a bunch of hot middle-aged women compete for the affections of younger hot men

sadly they did not title it

"2 milf 2 manor"

do architects get paid a royalty for every monetary transaction that occurs in a building that they designed?

or is it only operating systems that work that way

it's not that i don't like machine learning models, i think they're a perfectly fine tool for some uses

it's that i don't like or trust people, and people run corporations, which i trust even less, which proceed to fuck over other people, using investor hype cycles as the medium of expression
