you know that feeling when you've been making notes and not reviewing them for the past 4 months, and now you have about 6 days left until your exam, so you decide to go back to your notes

and you realise, even though you spent hours in each lecture writing those notes down, they're not just shit notes but absolutely useless. how the fuck am i supposed to revise from bullet points

i should have just tried making flashcards for each lecture from the beginning instead of doing this

w8 wot @aen_the_acolyte, you guys take notes to read em later? i just do it to make sure i really try to understand and stay focus, and occasionally revisit previous points (e.g. lemma) if the lecture is following a narrative

To be precise, @xarvos, not just packaging but also everything other than the actual chip. TB-size flash drives have been around for years now and I imagine manufacturing storage chip of much smaller capacity became relatively easy now so to cost difference is like in silicon which is abundant.

Flash drives (in that price range) are still horribly slow tho @xarvos, if thou really wantst that get a portable SSD instead.

no @xarvos, thou wouldn’t, but large flash drives are so slow relative to their size to be worth it as boot media either (64 GiB is fine tho and can be repurposed for music backup or sth)

myth: there are 24 timezones

fact: counting UTC offsets alone, there are 38 of them ranging from -12:00 to +14:00 (yea, not +12:00), including half-hour offsets like +5:30 and quarter-hour offsets like +5:45; and for timezones there are way more as each timezone may switches between offsets at different times of the year—people living in most western countries know well of this

Maybe, @xarvos, or maybe it’s just shit. Connections between data centers are lighting fast, so if the entry node is somewhat close (in RTT) then tunneling should improve performance.

Not sure how it works now but ISPs sometimes get greedy and under assign resources, so contacting them could result in a magical fix. May not work but it’s worth a try.
