    When my grandfather died, my kids were about 4/5. At the cemetery, while the casket was lowered into the ground, they sat in a car with my aunt. She used the time to talk to them about death being a natural part of life, about how everyone eventually dies. One of them looked at her and said he already knew that. She asked him since that was the case, how long he thought she probably had. He looked her and said what he thought was a long time. He said, "I'd give you about 2 weeks." 🤣

    When I was nine I thought it would be enough to live till the year 2000. Then so my idea I would be 38, stoneold in my opinion. In 2000 we would live in space and have underwater cities in the pelagrial oceans.
    Everything we might invent has been invented.
    I would do a last breath and die peacefully.

    And then, 2000, I can't tell how desperately disapointed I was!

    Bei den letzten Wahlen, Landes und Kommunalwahlen, gab es in meinem Wahlbezirk eine Wahlbeteiligung von 38% und die AFD hat 23% der Stimmen bekommen!

    Dringlichkeit besteht also!

    Ach ja, es begab sich in Westdeutschland, Niedersachsen, Nord, nicht in Nazideutschland, Ost!

    Ich empfehle ein Klystron, X-Band, 30MW Combat Mode, 100KW peacetimes.

    Ein Sweep und die Taube sieht aus wie ein übergroßer Badminton Federball.

    Die Fliegeratten haben sich immer wieder mal in den Radom geschmuggelt. Immer mit dem gleichen Ergebnis, ein Sweep und sie waren gar.

    Wenn es bereits beim Öffnen der Eingangsklappe nach Grillhähnchen roch wusste man was einen erwartet.

    📲 Welche mittelkomplexen FOSS-Dateimanager könnt Ihr für empfehlen? 📁 (also was zwischen (ehemals ) und )
    Ich selbst nutze bevorzugt Ghost Commander, aber der ist sicher für viele Anwendungszwecke überdimensioniert.

    Den Simple Manager von Simple Mobile Tools kenne ich auch, aber der ist wiederum zu "simple", so dass der Fossify Manager auch nicht passen würde.

    Nun hat mich jemand nach einer Empfehlung gefragt. Es gibt ja so einige weitere Dateimanager für Android , mit welchen weiteren habt Ihr Erfahrung und könnt sie empfehlen?

    Das Drumrum scheint aber bei beiden eine Kleinigkeit zu kosten. Aber immer noch weniger als meine obligatorischen 10€nen mit denen ich bisher jedes Freie Software Projekt unterstütze mit dessen Tool ich unter Android arbeite.

    Kaum vom FX File Explorer aus dem gugelversium zu unterscheiden!

    Wenn für Amaze die Amaze Utilities (scheint was zu kosten) und für FX die Plus License (kostet ein klein wenig) installiert ist sind sie wirklich sehr ähnlich!

    Hab den FX seit längerem am laufen, finde ihn wirklich sehr gut.

    Vor allem das Drumrum, text editor, Bildbetrachter, SSH und sync tool sind sehr gut integriert.

    Auf die kann man sich verlassen. Schon bei der Abfahrt in ‪‪ ist klar - die 22 Minuten zum Umstieg in Frankfurt werden nicht reichen. Der Anschluss nach Brüssel konnte nicht warten. Also 2 Stunden warten auf den nächsten ICE. Statt Abendessen mit Freunden dann halt gleich ins Bett. Danke, Deutsche Bahn!

    Dieses Kunstwerk entspricht wohl selten gekonnt der Erlebniswelt kleiner Kinder wieder wie kein anderes.

    Kein kleines Kind, das nicht Maja und Willi kennt und gleichzeitig kein Kind das nicht täglich am eigenen Leib erlebt was es in der Stadt bedeutet den Kopf so nah über den Abgasrohren der Autos zu tragen!

    Jitsi, so was wie Big Blue Button (BBB) für Arme. ; -)

    Big Blue Button ist ein Video Conferencing System wie MS Teams es vorgibt zu sein.

    Beide Jitsi wie BBB sind Freie Software. Jitsi ein Video Conferencing System für kleine bis mittlere Gruppen, BBB auch für sehr große Gruppen (>>100)

    Die Leistungsanforderungen an die Hardware sind beeindruckend bis erschreckend.

    Ein ganz deutliches Jein 🙂

    Wenn nur einer Spricht und alle anderen Zuhören geht's mit Jitsi. Sobald aber mehr als 10 - 20 People aktiv dabei sind wird's kritisch. (mein Stand von vor 2 Jahren)

    BBB dagegen kommt auch mit 100, 200 und mehr aktiven Teilnehmern klar.

    Man muss aber klar sagen der Anspruch an die Hardware steigt exponentiell.

    Quad CPU Systeme mit 16 oder besser 32 Cores pro CPU, 512 GB Ram und mehr, Terrabyte NVME SSDs direkt am PCI Bus, nicht über SATA sind nicht unüblich. Das gilt für Jitsi wie für BBB.

    Was die Leistung as geht schon. Vor allem im professionellen Umfeld.

    Für 'selbst betrieben' zum ausprobieren der Technik und für kleine Ansprüche tut es auch ein Jitsi.

    Der jew. Video und Audio Streams wird nur einmal komprimiert und an alle verschickt.

    Was so extrem Ressourcen frisst ist der Umstand, dass jeder Teilnehmer mit allen anderen komuniziert und dies gleichzeitig und für alle beteiligten Teilnehmer auf einmal.

    Das läuft über eine zentrale MCU, Hardware (gibt dafür auch Softwarelösungen, z.B. in Jitsi) und einen Gatekeeper, Software.
