Hey y'all, I'm Drew from India, I'm currently a DevOps Engineer at infoworks.io and have been made redundant starting from next month.

I've had a lot of experience working with CI/CD pipelines and IaC at ${currentJob}, but would also love doing development in any programming language/framework you could imagine.

If it endears myself to any of you, I use Emacs with vi keybindings wherever I can.

So for the past week i've been sharing one image per day on Pixelfed.Social, the dev's instance.

And each day my photo shared has ended up in the top trending photographs for the entire instance.

But today i just posted an image and this happened.

Not sure if his instance is having spam issues today but this is a first. I hope my photo gets shared there, i don't see why it wouldn't after review.

Just found out several posts of mine have been removed here this morning from the Local and Federated feeds.

I see people posting music, i see tons of shitposts, i see bots and a bunch of posts sometimes spanning long threads here on this instance.

None of my other posts were censored in this way but posting a Russian singer/songwriter i'm fond of resulted in this apparently.

New posts seem to be appearing so i was only targeted for that is seems. Now i know, i can't play any Russian artist here, not allowed.

One of the reasons I really wish there were QTs on here is to make it not look like I am endorsing or criticizing something else someone else is endorsing or criticizing. Like, they share something interesting but they share their personal opinion about it and I disagree slightly with some nuance. That's not trolling, it's not a pile-on, it's just context that RTs are not endorsements.

Random thought: I do a lot of talks, and it very rarely happens that one goes really well, to the point where I am unequivocally happy about it.

Last week's #PyConIT2023 talk was one such talk, and I'll be mighty proud when the recording is up and I can share it.

(And @pycon🇮🇹 is an absolutely delightful conference. I may have mentioned this before but I am happy to repeat myself.)
