The funky blues progression produced by retro Amiga chips with robot vocals took me by surprise on the first play. I didn’t think chiptunes could sound that good. “Laden läuft.mod” by PAULAnder von Liebhertz (@herr_irrtum) is not only a really cool technical accomplishment, it’s also an excellent song. The opening synth bass and drums set up the guitar nicely in this song about the most innocent man in the world. “Fediverse Fans Forever” by Randy Resnick (@randulo) is a great little rock song with some really cool (and cheeky) lyrics regarding social media and the Fediverse.

One really impressive aspect is that Randy played the guitar and sax on this track with two broken wrists!! Dave Grohl would be proud!

Chris Brind (@brindy) has produced a really cool Norse sounding track, with mandolin and big bass drum. “Crimson Tide” sounds like it should be in the opening titles of an epic Viking film. Great song. Love it. Vote code THRO

Today's is about your favorite album on physical media.

I have always adored Queen, they are my favourite band of all time and I have all their studio and live albums up to “Made In Heaven”.

That said, my favourite album of all time, from the vinyl my father played when I was very young, to the CD I ordered from eBay, is not a Queen album.

“The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast” is a ‘70s concept album written by Roger Glover after he left Deep Purple. Several great artists are featured on the tracks, notably:
• Glenn Hughes of Trapeze, Deep Purple, and Black Sabbath.
• Ronnie James Dio of Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio and Heaven & Hell.
• Jimmy Helms of Londonbeat.
• David Coverdale of Deep Purple and Whitesnake.
• John Lawton of Lucifer's Friend, Uriah Heep and the Les Humphries Singers.
• and several other great ‘70s talents!

The album follows a story based on a poem by William Roscoe, written in 1802, telling the story of a party for insects and other small animals.

The album cover design is from Alan Aldridge's design for a 1973 book based on the poem.
