Screenshotting this post 👇🏻 in order to quote post it! I don’t know where people get the idea that quote posting = dunks, personally I feel that that opinion is just Twitter brain.
Every major social platform from Tumblr, to Facebook, to LinkedIn and more has the ability to natively quote post. This is because the primary use of such a feature is to amplify information w added context or to open a new line of discussion. Replies are used far more often for harassment but we don’t ban replies!
If dunking is a feared use of the feature, design the presentation of the quote post so that the quoted item is shown first, followed by the quoter’s response.
That would reduce the ability of the quoter to prime the way the reader initially views (and interprets) the quoted content, while working just fine as a fork or clarification of the original quoted post.

oh and - for you #WorldWideWeb nerds out there: the entire site is generated on-the-fly with handwritten shaitan-approved PHP from text files, using a vile markup language i invented on my own without asking an adult first. it also features an #rss feed on the journal page, for those of you who find browsing profane
@vga256 yeah it is! I need to start working on game dev side projects, looking at the playdate as a potential this year, would be a good excuse to play around with Pulp.

Remain convinced that if we had a good non-GIMP Photoshop alternative on Linux, more people would move over. It’s those one or two big apps that are showstoppers.
as a 20 year mac owner, i don't give a damn about apple anymore. they aren't the same company they were in the mac vs pc era, and the poetic excitement is dead.
it gave me grim joy to see them launch a laptop with "space black" at a premium. this is literally the same move #UltimaOnline did 25 years ago with black tinted platemail armour 🤣
