y'all keep confusing me: should I buy iPad/iPhone or not?

I've seen recently a lot of posts and videos on all social media saying that Apple is the devil and complaints about the company.

@BeAware To make it clear: Mastodon, Threads and Twitter are the ones where everybody are making fun of Apple and their products, complaining about them and company itself.

One guy says that Instagram isn't well optimized ofr iPad, another one says iPad are still small since its creation, and etc.

Another one reported that Apple doesn't welcome competition anymore.

So..........?

Can I trust Apple? I mean, is it worth it?

Why is Mastodon moderation so archaic? Why cannot I not yet completely stop posts with certain words from federating into my instance in the first place?

This should be a thing. I shouldn't have to view potential illegal content to have the gross shit removed from my viewing.

It should be automatic and precise.

Furthermore, I cannot remove single posts with a simple "remove this fuckin bullshit" button. Instead, I have to "report" the post (to myself) and then go into the moderation interface and click 3 buttons.

Cool features are nice, but actual user friendly moderation tools are essential. Yet we somehow seem to be stuck with the current system.🤦‍♂️

Before I went to University (2009/2010 maybe) I had a (dumb) phone with interesting photo filters/modification options. Even if photos had well visible pixels these days :blobcatjoy:​

One day I took a photo of a , with empty sky background. Then I switched it to negative, changed colours and added filter with frame with many semi-transparent squares.

Later I changed phone, and lost old one. Last few years I only remembered I had that modified photo and it was cool. So I tried to draw and recreate it myself.

Finally I am not happy with result, original one had to be better :blobcatthink:​

But god I love the Fediverse. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside to know I’m a part of this, my posts can be seen from all around the world in real time, I have even coded a portion of it and I have the whole thing installed on my own server. It’s a nice feeling.

@BeAware no, I did and I do. I just quite got curious when someone says that AI search engine is perfectly accurate I disagree.

Mojeek, as far as I know, was founded and made in 2006. This AI search engine says it was in 2004.

My single biggest wish for @ivory is to add an option to disable all the cell swipe actions and add a “swipe anywhere to go back” feature. (Similarly to Twitter, the Mastodon official client, Woolly, Mammoth, and many other apps).

It would greatly improve single-handed use (with a right hand, that is).

Alternatively, a swipe on Tab Bar to go back a la @apolloapp would be an improvement.
