#Crocheting with a spreadsheet today. This is a temperature blanket again but just the low then high temperature for each day of my smallest human's birth month. Apart from the orange which is annoying me, this is definitely my neatest project so far.
My temperature blanket project for my youngest is now complete. Low temp and high for each day of June 2021 which is his birth month and year. Colour range was just one I chose randomly so it was nice and colourful ☀️ Kylo is content to have her snoozes on it which is the perfect seal of approval for any crochet project 🩷
Wish us luck folks!!! Your well wishes always seem to stretch to us & give positive results 🤞🏻 Mr F is having his health & safety audit as I type! It's a big deal, so important & whatever positive vibes you can end for the most excellent outcome would be most appreciated ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
@followingfloss a report that tells health is very good and has room and potential for improvement is a good report in my book. Congratulations.
Enjoy each other and enjoy the weekend🌞
@followingfloss Oh well done, this is excellent to hear and 9/10 is great for his first time as big boss.
We're still waiting on our audit for my place but have done a lot of work to get a good score. We got our previous result out to go over and we're spurred on by seeing a fellow restaurant in the chain getting a really really low score so not wanting to fail so bad
I have to call our new GP for the first time this morning for an appointment for the youngest, I am hoping the phrase 'very distressed two year old' wins me a face to face with a doctor. Wish me luck folks 😬🤞🏻 I was lucky with my old surgery & was there a really long time, so really dreading dealing with a new surgery & new system 😑
@RomanticIsa it's amazing how quick they're working! He's a different kid already 😳 I can't really take many/any useful antibiotics, so I don't really know how that turnaround from poorly to much better feels but looking at him bounce back I can imagine it feels pretty good.
#CrochetAdventures and it's Day 29 of my temperature blanket, which is also my eldest's birthday. I've decided to mark birthdays with a black row, in a slightly different stitch, with the temperature colour for the day running through the black too. Showing both sides of my blanket here, my chosen stitch gives a varied colour palette on each side and a close up of today's stitch.
I don't often get a pic of my two girlies together. But it's super adorable when they do sit near each other 😍 even cuter when the smallest human gets in on the act too ♥️ #Caturday#ReyTheTortie#KyloTheTuxedo
People who live with other people, how do you cope with the things that they can't seem to help when they're also the things that make you want to rip out your own hair, or tear off your own flesh just for a distraction? If I see one more jiggling foot, or hear another endless repetition of some pointless irritating sound I'm going to scream or throw something (I probably won't do either but I will feel very agitated, angry, sick & tearful) 😭
@followingfloss very understandable and an easy way to crash.
What I try to do is to distract myself from what I was doing by doing something I like to do a lot, giving me a pleasant time in which I forget to feel irritated. It might not work for everyone but it certainly helped me through stressful periods in stressful environments.
The technique is very similar to that of flying. It’s a kind of falling but you get distracted…
We've never had a baby monitor because I've never had a baby be far enough away from me for it to be required. We've recently bought one & it is coming in handy today because the littlest one is asleep in the kitchen, where the cats are shut in while men fit new carpets. When I turned in on to adjust it I pissed myself laughing with the sight I saw. Cats make everything bloody hilarious ... P.S small human in under the emoji
I'm currently doing a Team Leader Development Programme at work, which involves ten online workshops. I did two on Saturday morning & I do always try to join in, answer questions & be engaged, apparently this doesn't go unnoticed because this came in the post from the lady who ran the workshops. Feel extra proud because Mr F didn't even know they sent these out, so he's was also very impressed 🥰
Previous toot cont ... We do a fair few incentives at work, with fairly decent extras given, but as the partner of the manager I'm pretty much exempt from most of it. So being recognized by someone who has zero clue about how and why I work here is really good 🌟
Completely randomly in the last few days I've heard the word 'rhetoric' said out loud in two completely different places. Once in an audiobook, once on TV. I was convinced they were saying it wrong & tiny bit maybe they are, but mostly you do not pronounce it the way I thought!!! Tried to discuss it with Mr F & today was the first time he ever heard the word, so it wasn't a very fruitful discussion 😂
@followingfloss it's a word I hear a lot at work. I've heard a couple of ways of pronouncing it, but one might be more common for English as a second language folks
@kitclaw I think if someone whose first language wasn't English, or even someone with a different accent had said it I wouldn't have questioned it, but both times it was said by English people, with very standard British accents, very similar to mine, so it totally threw me 🙈 but it's fun to keep learning & I've since googled it & learnt the right way & the origins of the word, so now I know all the things 😅
It's my job to do the event displays at work. Whatever we put out is at risk of going in people's pockets/bags. So in the hopes they don't rob my vases I'm making cute origami hearts for them to take 🤞🏻 and my vases are glued down just in case. I've not done origami before so I'm pretty pleased with my efforts 😊
#crochetuk#crochetprojects2024 Thanks to the crochet groups I'm in on Facebook I've decided on a year long crochet project 🙈 a temperature blanket! I just need to decide on how wide I should make it & which time of day to take the temperature from. Skull squares are for a scarf for my eldest, which I think will also be a 2024 project because I'm not quick enough to finish it in 2023.
3 months of my temperature blanket done! Due to the stitch I've chosen to use I'm getting a different colour variation on each side. One features odd days of the month & the other even. January at the top, moving down to March on the sofa seats.
Another completed project! My historical temperature scarf for my year of birth. This measures 11ft 6inches long, which now means I know exactly how long my 2024 temperature blanket will be because I'm doing that in the same stitch as the scarf.
Drinking tea, making a curry for tomorrow and listening to Christmas carols 🎄 and also spending Christmas Eve making lots of family discovery through my recent ancestry adventure!
Wrapping Christmas presents 🎁 and listening to 80's Rock Anthems 🎶 I considered Christmas songs but it stills feels too early for them 😅 will save them for Christmas day when I'm driving to collect my eldest from his Dad's 🎄
She is also a fan of the wrapping of presents! Much excitement to be had for her when this begins 😅 but not as exciting as when we unwrap! That's when the real party begins 💓
I have so many visitors over the holidays, I'm very much hoping I don't get overwhelmed! First my eldest has a friend here for three nights & next week I have four family members for two nights. I think it will be mostly lovely & I need to do my best to embrace it, I just really like my own time & space which only seems to increase as I get older!
