Today is my birthday!

If you'd like to do something for me for my birthday, would you please reply to this with—or by other means send me— something with colors you liked? Like an image or a video or a link. Music would also be acceptable if it gives you a strong synesthesiac association with color.

Created a test account on bsky and there appears to be literally no way to opt out of algorithmic feeds. If it decides you aren't following enough people, rather than allowing the Content Spigot to end it starts showing you its fucking algorithmic recommendations after that. God. Fuck Twitter and everything that spawned from it

@mcc i follow a lot of folks on mastodon, and I really appreciate that tusky gives me a load button after I've read a bunch -- it's a good reminder I don't need to keep reading, but not a major impediment if I want to.

Love a mixed message midyear review of thanks for helping keep everything running, but maybe you can be more schedule focused.

    Every new pitch I hear for "AI" makes me think wow they must have come up with some interesting new technique, otherwise these claims are obviously false. And then you look into it and it's still just a very complex stochastic model underneath. But the financially motivated folks keep claiming that there's actual factual based use cases for this stuff and I really am not seeing it.

    I went to trek cup last weekend and all I got is 3 pairs of shoes covered in mud, and a very dirty bike, and to see world champs annihilate a course I had to run half of.
