What they shouldn't tell you in the manual: Use the Supervisor Panel. It no longer exists. The Control Panel a quick web search tells you to use instead no longer exists either...

@vik That sounds like ESPHome documentation?

As in, the Home Assistant documentation generally doesn't have instructions on how to program ESPHome devices (exception would be the voice assistant manual, but those are very recently created so I don't expect them to have that issue you described).

Things they don't tell you in the manual: When connecting your Raspberry by to the same router as your PC, the router needs to be connected to the internet.

@larnius Thanks! Yeah this is a big deal for all of us.

The community is growing fast and that is scary at times, but the project is still our same beloved open source thing we all build together of love for the community and tech.

In the end, I still feel I'm able to contribute to an awesome open source project, and I really want it to stay that way. That voluntary feeling of being able to contribute to a greater common good and goal.

This release, Spook became much faster in reporting issues (and cleans up reported issues faster when you solve them). 🚀

Furthermore, Spook now understands scenes! 🎨It will raise issues in your repair center if it find problems with one them.

Reading a bit through all drama…

Dunno… makes me think about: should I stay here? Should I move? Should I just leave all together?

Then again, I was on a different server before that just got shut down before I could migrate 😔

This is sort of the second disappointment in the for me. Making me loose faith in this platform altogether.

@Niek I do expect a bunch of responses that will say: host you own, or, move to <some instance> it is awesome.

The point is, a user shouldn’t have this fight. I made a, for me, weighted and thought-through decision twice now… and still am faced with this wonderful downside of the fediverse 😔
