Playing GT3 for the first time in…. Possibly a couple decades. And I hadn’t realized just how big a change in physics and even track layout there was between it an GT4.

My kingdom for a Hyundai Kona EV N or a Kia Niro EV GT. There’s potential in them there hatches.

Nice to see someone test an array of ammunition and weapons against the Cybertruck

I just realized. The Pokemon store I visited in Tokyo Station last fall wasn't called a Pokemart. Or even Pokemon Center. What a missed opportunity.

So yes, the blunt-nose kei trucks and vans we know and love are adorable. But I think this 1965 Suzuki Carry, that has a cab that literally looks like a scaled-down normal pickup, might actually be even more adorable.

And here it is, your weird car of the day

Oldsmobile Cutlass hatchback in a faded metallic brown

geekygearhead,
@geekygearhead@weird.autos avatar

@rjcc @jackhutton And even back in the day, a big hatchback was strange

geekygearhead,
@geekygearhead@weird.autos avatar

@rjcc @jackhutton Oh yeah, those were very much a thing. I’ve seen a few in person at car shows and occasionally on the street. It’s still a baffling thing

geekygearhead,
@geekygearhead@weird.autos avatar

@jackyan @rjcc @jackhutton OMG you’re right. That’s bizarre in a whole other way. It just seemed like it should be. Guess it’s kinda like original Minis

Apple's short-lived experiments with Infected Aluminium cases made for good airflow but unsettled users.

@NanoRaptor For a second I thought I was looking at a cylinder head sans valves. A very, VERY weird cylinder head lol

Oh wow, I’ve been sitting on the race start screen for Grand Valley Highway 1 in GT7, and the panning shots went to one of the coast where Polyphony modeled and animated a whole bunch of Elephant Seals on the beach. Virtually impossible to see from the track.

Playing with the Suzuki Jimny in GT7 is giving me a worrisome desire for a kei or kei-based 4x4

Kia Spectra 56mm throttle body to Mercedes supercharger adapter, design in #freecad printed in PLA, 5% infill for burnout for when I cast this in aluminum.

@smellsofbikes Wait, you’re supercharging a Spectra?

I’m generally a PT Cruiser apologist, especially in the wake of a lot of revisionist history regarding the model. But the thing that was arguably the best part that should make a comeback is the impressive high roof opening and removable rear seats. Basically a tiny van in a hatch shape.

Always a cheery surprise remembering that GT plays jazzy Christmas tunes on the main menus during December.

Starting Alan Wake finally (since it’s part of the same world as Control). And I figured you’d all be interested to hear that Alan Wake has a (legally distinct) Lincoln MKT

A bit surprised to see at least 4 Lyriqs at my local Cadillac dealer tonight.

Watched the new Haunted Mansion tonight. And it had good parts, but the whole thing felt kinda messy. And that’s a bummer because the cast was excellent. LaKeith Stanfield in particular had a couple scenes that were way better than the movie deserved.

There’s just been a porta potty spinning on a crane outside my apartment for hours I hope whoever is inside is ok

geekygearhead,

@christianselig There was a VHS tape I had as a kid called There Goes a Bulldozer. Getting lifted away in a porta potty was a gag in the video. Jump to 27:21
