@TheMetalDog @Theblueone @MJCarty I love Tell No Tales and Intuition, but a big part of me wishes the band would have continued with the Nordic Symphonic Metal genre. But, like Europe (and Whitesnake), I suppose the lure of the American market was too much to resist.

I’ve been working on a song in C minor - what the hell was I thinking? Three flats and no open strings for . I was studying B Dorian - that’s the Wicked Game key - but then went up a half step and played Ab / Cm as an opening chord and it sounded so cool. The other chords flowed from there - flats and all, and in between the usual fret markers. But you gotta dance with the one that brung ya. It’s going to be a cool track.

- – Fearless. Although they over-emulate Rush – right down to opening for Kiss on this year’s tour – the Ontario duo of Cody Bowles and Kevin Comeau capture the scope and thrill of old-school prog like no other contemporary band (far more than the fastidious Steven Wilson or Riverside). It’s worth remembering, too, that even Rush were largely a Zeppelin cop until a few albums in. If this is Crown Lands’ Fly By Night, let’s hope they have a 2112 in ‘em.

@Great_Albums I gotta add another one to the list. Rob Lamothe (Riverdogs) teamed up with his son on drums, James Harper on guitar, and got a bunch of special guests to play under the name Cross Country Driver. Album (The New Truth) came out in March but I'm just hearing about now 😠

I haven't even gotten through it all yet, but this has a chance to be the best thing I've heard in a decade. Mike Mangini and dUg Pinnick played on "Rio Tularosa," which just rips.
