Finally got to meet @pluralistic tonight during a signing for his new book The Bezzle. I just finished the first book in the series Red Team Blues and can't wait to start the next one, even if they aren't in chronological order!

Also if you didn't know he touches base on my work with @pidgin in another book of his The Internet Con:How to Seize the Means of Computation.

Decided to enjoy some of our local parks as today is Milwaukee Day (414).

Went to see my first movie in a theater in 6 months, and I'm confident we did it safely. We waited until COVID had declined ~85% in our area. Then we bought tickets the 6th week Dune 2 was released for a noon Sunday showing. Outcome:

Only one other person in the 180-seat theater. I had my CO2 monitor, and it never went above a safe 500 ppm. (Outdoor air is just 400 ppm.) There's never a guarantee--everyone has to assess their risks and make decisions--but I loved the movie and am glad we went.

@augieray yeah they used to be in the center of your picture then they moved them to the left. Not sure when they removed them as that was after I left. I used to be responsible for emptying the quarters out of them . 😁

The most amusing thing today is my "Encyclopaedia Metallum" page that someone filled in and added all my old bands (click on the "Past Bands" tab) because while it is technically accurate three of those bands never played shows and one or two of them never recorded anything. (Also, they were mostly punk/hardcore bands.)
